Picky Picky!

Today was day one of introducing Chianti's new food to her. She has been on Purina Puppy Chow since she came home from the breeder and I know what a bad food it is, but was having trouble deciding what dry food to switch her too. Well, I decided to go with Nature's Valley after reading what the smarties in The Food Group had to say (it was between that and Fromms, but I had a hard time finding that in my area). I picked up my first bag this morning, and added a 1/4 of a cup to her lunch time meal. Well I come out of the shower and ALL over the floor surrounding her bowl is cracked pieces of the Purina, like she tasted them and spit them out looking for the Nature's Valley. There is not a single piece of the NV left...So much for introducing the new food slowly! Smart doodle knows I was feeding her crap.

I have never been able to switch gradually with my pups. Especially Taquito who will spit out the old food on the floor. He removes it from the bowl before eating the new food :)

That is so funny! Hunter and Daisy did the same exact thing! They were on Puppy Chow too from were we got them and I wanted them off it ASAP. I did research and decided to put them on Blue Buffalo Co dry food. They ate all the Blue and left the Puppy Chow in there. I just laughed! They both lay down when they eat and it was hilarious watching them pick up a piece of PC and literally place it outside of the bowl and eat the Blue. It's like, if they had thumbs and could, they would have just picked out the PC and fling it back at us!

Calla will eat anything too but not Luca. They are not all alike.

I can't believe what I am reading!!! How cute that these doodles actually TASTE and PICK OUT the food they want and LEAVE anything. I'm waiting for my doodle and learning alot from you guys. I swear my labs would have eaten panty hose (one in our neighborhood really did)!!!! You go Chianti.

Toby did the same thing when I switched him off of Iam's. It was an immediate switch, because he refused to eat Iam's anymore.

Yay for Chianti! She is a gourmet, unlike certain big blonde slobhounds who shall remain nameless! I'm glad she's enjoying her Nature's Variety! :-)
