Planes, Trains and Automobiles...!!!

I hope this comes out with the intention of what I mean it... I have been through enough in my life that I can appreciate a normal bad day.. you know one where no one needs to go on life support to breathe, no one died, no one lost a limb but the day is still pretty unbelievable??? Well that was today!!!! I love when normal things happen to me.. I like when good thing normal things happen....

 

Did you ever see the movie Planes, Trains and Automobiles... that is what my day reminded me of..

 

Sit back and have a drink with me...

 

I woke up this morning to take Jack to the vet for his follow up and Molly since she was exposed to Kennel Cough.. We had a not so great visit because Jack is still sick but you know it is going to be okay, we will work it out.. Molly Rose is 7 pounds 7 ounces.. I went to pay my bill and their credit card machine was broke... I don't like to have a balance with them so I decided I would go to the ATM and go back and pay them....

 

I get the cash and pull up in front of the vets, I leave Jack and Molly and my oxygen tank in the car, I am just running in to pay bill, I left the car running... I was a bad mommy and didn't strap Jack in the back with Molly I let him sit up front.. I go and pay the bill.. I come back out to the car, Low and Behold their was Jack Daniels revenge on me for taking him to the vet.. He put his paw down (literally) and is not going to take it no more..  Well in putting his paw down, he locked my car door.. So in my car with the air blowing full force was Jack sitting in the drivers seat. Molly in the back seat yapping as loud as she can, like she is on fire.. If you have read any of my posts you know that Molly screams like she is on fire when she has to potty.... and there I was locked out of my car... without my oxygen......

 

Not a problem the very helpful vet staff call a lock smith, they were here in 15 minutes flat and only charged a reasonable fee....

 

On the road again.. I was going to bring the dogs with me to the health food store and to do the few errands I had to do before I was able to continue my "great few days I was having"  but something told me to bring them home. Molly was hot even with the airconditioner on....

 

I drop the dogs off... and off I went, two small errands. Jack and my medications and home to relax.. I am driving down the highway and I notice it is getting hotter and hotter in the car.. I think Jack must have knocked the button on the AC so I try to adjust it. its on full blast. The AC can't be broke less then 3 months ago I paid almost 1700..00 to get a new system in... oh well I can't deal with it now.. (denial I love it)

 

Next thing you know I am going 70 miles an hour and my car blows smoke in it, I lose my steering, and fluid is flowing everywhere..... I could not steer my car, but thankfully I was able to get to the divider of the road.. on the busy lane but at least I got over.

 

Now I am stuck on a major highway.. ( did I mention I was too lazy to charge my cell phone last night and only had one bar left??) I call roadside assistance, they say they will be there as per the policy within the hour.. I explain I am on oxygen and my tank is almost empty that my car is reading 110  degrees and I can't open my door to get out because I am butted up against the divider and the other side is the fast lane... They said they would hurry up

 

One hour and 10 minutes later they came... I was so soaking wet and sick from not having oxygen I puked in the guys tow truck.....(but then I felt better)

 

We get to the car place... and yes the new air conditioner they put in three months ago is totally busted and it took out some major belts with it!!! THe good news is I don't need to pay for it again.....

 

The very kind and loving man who fixes the cars took pity on me and my blueish colored self and was going to drive me right to the car rental place.... I quickly went potty and caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. My hair gets very curly when it is wet and I just sweat off ten pounds in my car. I looked so funny.. I laughed at myself

 

So off we go.. this young nice guy decided to take me in his own personal car to the rental place.. The car was very dirty, very old, and had a car seat in it. I was thinking he must be a young dad.. We didn't talk a whole lot as I was trying to breathe. but we made small talk.. until I made loud talk.

 

Sir your going through a red light, sir, red light sir, which made him jump and slam on the breaks and you guessed it, we got side swiped!!! No one was hurt but I can't help but think if I would have kept my big mouth shut and let him go through the light, he would not have slammed on the breaks and we would not have gotten hit.... In SC you don't need to have collision on your car. this poor young guy doing me a favor lost his car today.. Though it was not damaged badly.. it just can't be worth that much.

 

Now the police are on there. I keep telling the man, I need oxygen so we have to go... He just wants to call an ambulance.. I keep saying I am not hurt, trying to ell him I need the oxygen.. I have a dead cell phone so I can't call for back up oxygen .....

 

Anyway, we called my oxygen company and the love buggers came to the accident and finally I got my oxygen.. who needed those extra brain cells anyway..... I got you guys to think for me..

 

I finally finally got to the Enterprize rental car place after a long time, I tell them I need a car that will hold an infant car seat rear facing .. a lot of the small compact cars do not accomadate that....

 

I finally get home.. I go to install the car seat.. and guess what.. no safe hooks in the back!!!! I have to pick the baby up at 7 am... I call the car rental place that is 40 minutes away from my house and they are closed.. I called their emergency road people.. They tell me the only place open at this hour is the airport car rental, also 40 minutes from my house..... So off I go, after forcing Jack to eat and take his medications.. I drive to the airport..

 

I pull the carseat out of the car, grab my oxygen and I start walking and walking and walking.. The funny looks people gave me like they never saw a girl with oxygen strapped to her back, hair standing straight up, mascara smeared all over her face from the heat carrying a car seat through the airport.. Geeze people.. really....

 

I get to the freaking enterprize counter and I explain how roadside assistance sent me here... I plop the car seat down and the women looks at me and says "I just came on shift and I don't know what you are talking about we don't have any available cars" That is when I reminded myself of Planes Trains and Automobiles and I said I was going to stop breathing if they didn't get me a car that can accomatdate this car seat.. and I kept slapping my hand on the car seat..

 

I left five minutes later in a Town and Country Mini Van!!!!!!

 

See Folks it is all how you look at it. In a few days, minus Jack's health, none of this is going to matter... and as bad as this day would be to the average person, you know, locked out of a car, no oxygen, hot car, broke down car, wrong size car. None of that matters because if you are alive, feel good and you can breathe.. most anything can be fixed...

 

When you have days like this, the chances of having a better day tomorrow are so good!!!
