Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Thursday 2/27/14
This is a blog on the process of my Labradoodle Reese. He was picked by me at three weeks old to hopefully become a service and assistance dog for my disability of copd.
I am keeping all his progress listed here as we progress.
We have a few professional service dog trainers helping us along our journey. I have in 46 years obedience and protection trained dogs. This is just a new path I am taking.
I chose the Labradoodle because that is what this wonderful dog's very first job was. That dog excelled as a SD. I guess you could say I want the best of both worlds with this mix. :)
Reese was born December 8, 2014. ........ He already reliably knows "sit", "down", "come", "touch", .... we are now working on his retrieving instincts to bring them out.
I must laugh when I say that last evening on our way out the door to the attached garage ... he picked up both of my snow boots and carried them half way to the outside door. Lol! I will not know if this was just a game ... a fluke ... or he knew what he was doing. Lol! It is something I want him to do .... bring me articles.
Until next time .... Have a great day!

Thank you both for the nice comments. I am still trying to learn how to navigate and add photos! Lol! I am going to try to add one here and see what happens .............
This is Reese this morning learning to lay beside me while the other dogs are running around and someone is eating at the table right next to us. He is doing well with distractions and his focus. It is so much easier when you already have some sort of distractions every day! Lol! :D
Wow, he just might be a very fast learner! These dogs are smarter than us at times:)
Good luck in your journey with Reese. Be sure to post pictures along the way to add to your memories.
