Well, Dan and I had decided that Remington should probably get a little trim because his hair was getting a bit outta control. We were having a lot of trouble keeping it out of his eyes and well, lets face it, Dan and I hardly feel comfortable clipping his nails let alone near his little eyeballs... so we set up an appointment with Barkefellars in Greenwood, IN and they did a fantastic job!
Dan dropped Remington off at 12:30 and he was ready to go by 4:30. Dan hated leaving him even for a few hours because Remington has hardly been away from us... but it was probably more heartbreaking for us than him. They gave him a bath, clipped around his eyes, butt, and feet, and cleaned out his ears.
I called Dan right before I got home and he was telling me how wonderful Remington looked... I have to admit, I didn't really believe him because, well, my little guy is beautiful anyways so how much more lovely could he really look. When I walked in the door of our house this HUGE fluff ball greeted me with his wagging tail! OMG! This could not be my dog I thought because he was absolutely gorgeous! I can't even describe how handsome he was and boy did he smell good!
Dan said that he got the chance to talk to the guy who groomed him and absolutely loved the gentleman that did it. The guy told us that Remington will probably always be a shedder... BUMMER... and that he would guess Remington is going to be a BIG boy! He estimated 75-80 lbs... which is what we were guessing too but having someone else think that made us soooo happy! See we always wanted a huge dog (Great Dane) but just didn't know if it would really be the right fit for us so you have no idea how thrilled I am to know that Remington will get big. And just for the record I'm so glad we got a Doodle instead of a Great Dane. The groomer also bragged about how well Remington did during the whole process. He said that there are only a few dogs that come in that he wishes he could take home with him and Remington was one of them. I was so proud. Is this how you feel when your child's teacher brags about them at a parent/teacher conferences! LOL!
Anyways, needless to say my little boy was pretty tired when he got home so we didn't get the chance to show off his new look to the neighborhood... but tonight I think we'll get our chance!
