Rooney has ruined my trip to France!

Long before Rooney was even a gleam in my eye or a deposit on a looooong waiting list - I was invited to visit some friends who live in the south of France. Tomorrow the great adventure begins - and now I don't want to go. ;-) I hate to drag myself away from my computer - oh how I will miss those funny stories, updates (Roo's teeth came in yesterday), photos and videos that the breeder sends. And I will miss all of our new friends on DK and their stories and all of the stuff I was learning.

Pre Rooney I was planning on wasting some of Rooney's daddy's money at the Louis Vuitton Store on another useless purse. Hmmm - don't they make dog collars? Wait - no - your dad would kill me! O.K. how about a Les Pooches brush - those are made in France right, no you already have one, darn! Perhaps some French doggie toys! Maybe I'll even see some French Doodles! I'll keep the camera in hand just in case.

So dear little Rooney - while I am away - grow big, learn to potty outside, play with your littermates and know that I am missing you! When I return - we'll be so much closer to your homecoming!!!!! And if I can get on a computer at the hotel in Paris - I'll be surfing for puppy news! xoxox Mom

It sounds like a fabulous trip!!! I hope you and your daughter have a fantastic time!! The time will go really fast and you'll be that much closer to Rooney's homecoming day!!! Hooray!!! And as far as airlines selling seat for dogs...I LIKE the way you think!! :)

Rooney is going to fly with me to MI for Thanksgiving this year, he'll be small enough just this 1 time. I really thing airlines should sell seats for bigger dogs. I'd buy two tickets and just harness him right into the seat - knowing my luck he'd get bumped to 1st class and I'd have to ride in coach - lol. But seriously - most dogs are better behaved then small children :)

Not sure what a Laudree Macaron really is but it sure sounds yummy. I'll write it down so that I can check it out! Maybe I can stuff my suitcase full of Les Pooches brushes and Macaroons! It is a trip of a lifetime to be sure. I'm taking my 26 yr old daughter with me. From the south near Nice we will take a girls trip on the high speed train to Paris for 3 days. The really cool thing is that this trip is costing next to nothing. 1st class tickets $0 - f.f. flyer miles. Hotel rooms in Paris -$0 Hilton points. About the only good thing of having a husband who is never home. :( Saving all this $ just makes it so that I can spend more buying puppy stuff, ha ha.

I agree with everyone else. From the moment you get Rooney, you won't want to leave him. It's camping trips from here on out! LOL.

I can totally relate........but once you have him it will be even HARDER to leave him because then you will have to find a puppy sitter or some place to keep him......then the real worry begins. I have left Allie once at a boarding center. She went to day care during the day and had a blast I am sure, but came home a real mess. From now on, I am going to have a dog sitter come to our house!

Isn't it funny how one little fur ball can change your life - lol. I'll be losing my Delta Gold Priority status for sure. Instead of flying back and forth to visit the human children I'm now going to be driving from FL to MI. Rooney & Mommy road trips!!! I do have a vacation planned for Valentines (my anniv.) with dh and Rooney. We are driving to Key West and staying at Old Town Manor. They have special rooms so you can bring your dog and they have The Doggie Paddle Club where you can go kayaking & swimming with your dog! Also many bars/restaurants allow fur balls. Rooney 1st vaca - can't wait for that.

I totally agree with Lucy & Sophie's Mom....have fun, because it may be a while before you're taking this type of vacation again. I can really see that you're in love with your little Rooney already....I think that's wonderful.

Here is my advice ...... enjoy this trip to Paris because after Rooney arrives the only trips you are going to want to take will be to places that Rooney can go with you (and I'm guessing Paris isn't ones of those)! Spend lots of money on yourself, because from now on you are only going to want to buy things for Rooney! Plus, being in Paris is going to make the time go so much quicker until Rooney comes home. However, if the Les Pooches brush is cheaper in Paris, you might brings some back and sell them on here!
