I got to meet my puppy a day early!!!

Where to start? Dh was feeling very sad that he wasn't going to with me to see the new puppies tomorrow - and to find out if our little guy was really our Rooney. My poor husband flys home from NYC to our home in Ft. Myers every Thurs. or Fri. and flys back out again on Monday - hey - in todays world - it is a job.

So I send our dear, sweet breeder a note on Saturday asking if there was any way to move the appointment - she was very kind. So we haul ourselves out of bed at 5:30 a.m. to get ready and be at her place by 11:00. I of course didn't sleep - I was so nervous/excited. I needed this little puppy to pick me. 7 hours of round trip driving/ a wonderful 1 1/2 hour visit later and omg - I have my puppy.

I don't know how to put a picture in my blog - but if you go to my page you will see his photos. He is so amazing. When I got there - out of the 5 puppies he just got right next to me and didn't budge. He licked my arm and was sleeping in my lap. HE DID PICK ME!!!! I am so excited.

I will try to post a video of our meeting tomorrow. I feel so blessed by this little man. I love him and he loves me. NOW I belong on DoodleKisses! My photo is gone, replaced by his. Thank you all for your kind words and thoughts.

Thanks everyone! Yes Rooney is a parti doodle - he is a mini Australian. We project that he should be around his dad's size 20 lbs and 16.5 from the shoulder. I was very lucky to get him. Rooney won't come home to us until he is 10-11 wks - way tooo long. His breeder is the most AMAZING trainer and he is going to stay for training. It will be so hard to give up those weeks but it will lay the foundation for a lifetime of good behavior. I have found a great place here in Ft. Myers - Roo and I are going to continue the training. Maybe do a "Dance with your Dog" class for fun! While I'm waiting - I'll hang out here all learn for you all!!!!!

How adorable! Little Rooney is a Party Doodle!!! I just don't think that we see very many here on DK. When is the pick up date? You are going to love him. When we picked out Gracie Doodle we got to go to the breeders (40 minute drive) every weekend to visit her. It is just torture waiting to bring them home...soon I hope!
