Last week as I was looking forward to DH getting back from China and being excited for our trip to Key West (our Valentine's/Anniversary trip that was postponed due to China) - my phone range and it was the middle child calling to say - suprise - I'm packing up, bringing the new puppy and driving down from Michigan.  I was very happily shocked as this child is the only one that NEVER comes to visit us no matter where we are living.  Soooo, once again the Key West trip is moved back a month (the hotel said that this is now a non-refundable situation - they just love me - ha ha).  Well we have been having a great time (except for the Shanghi s**** that you've already heard about, finally on anti-biotics starting to feel better), and Rooney and Rio have gotten along pretty well.  It started out rough as Rio is a nervous pee-er, yikes.  It has gotten better but I don't touch her without advance notice, don't speak to her in a high voice, etc.  DS is hoping that she out grows it,  I'm not so sure.  The "boys" puppy wrestle and we've had a little breakage but nothing too bad.  Rio being a farm dog is not the most socialized puppy so we take her to the puppy park every day and she has come a long way, starting to play and have fun with others.  Those first few days, I think Rooney woke up every day hoping that the puppy was gone but now he goes running to look for her - I think my doodle is going to be lonely when she leaves this Friday.

What a great picture!  Can I bring Tori down for a visit?  Maybe Rooney can help her come out of her shell and be better socialized too!  She's a herder, but doesn't realize she doesn't live on a farm!  (What the heck... my boys must think they live in a barn!- LOL)

Hi Rooney, the picture of you and your buddy is cute.  I wish we had a picture of us together.  Maybe one of our Momma's can figure out how to Photoshop us together (ummm...I don't want to hurt her feelings but I don't thinkg my Momma can do that...can yours?).  Have fun playing while he is here!  Tell you Momma to get over those Shanghi you-know-whats (I am not suppose to say the other word)!  Love, your girlfriend Rua

Thanks Nancy - it really shows me how much Rooney would love a brother!   But because I can't get a fence put in - I don't think I can handle two dogs :(

When my daughter comes home with her French Bulldog, there is a lot of barking and excitement for about a day and then they all settle right in. Vern and Bonzai became fast friends and Fudge loves Bonzai too. I love having all the dogs here and happy. Bonzai has a tendency to pee on our dog's beds, so I have started putting them all up when he shows up :) The dogs look so happy together and I bet they are tired each night.

You could try getting a "belly band" to put on him when he is in the house so you don't end up with little nervous pee's on the furniture or rugs!  You can get one at Petsmart!  (Although I guess he is getting ready to go home pretty soon).

Cute picture! Rooney is such a good pup for helping to bring Rio out of his shell. Glad your feeling better!
