Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Just needed to share. This is my first 2 nights of many 1-2 nights that I have to be away from my doodles due to work and I am just so bummed because I miss them both so much. I have always missed Murphy when I've been gone, but now that I have double doodle love waiting at home it's doubly sad for me. Boo hoo. Anyone else just feel that silly ache when away from your doods or have I gone over the edge?

Yes, Dh is having some good bonding time. Now I am stressing because he is leaving Thurs - Monday and I have a 10 hour work day on thurs and have to leave again on Sunday night so one goes to our daughters and one goes to a good friends. Just makes me crazy to have them shuffled around so. But they probably think they are on a play date!!!   Can't wait to be a retired doodle mommy

I too know just how you feel.  Last year we only took one brief vacation without the Doods, and I really missed them.  I thought of them the whole time we were away.  We boarded them at our Daycare, and they did just fine....but their Mom didn't.  Looks like we're going to Disney in April with the grandkids, and I'm already starting to worry about leaving my guys.  At least you know that DH is there taking good care of them.

Oh, I'm so there!  I had to leave Trav with my daughter for three days, and worried about him and missed him.  Aside from some whining and pacing on the first day, she said he got along just fine.  Better than I did!

Suzann, no, they are happily home with Dh and probably not missing me nearly as much. And oh yes, just the thoughts of them running to the door, tails beating against the wall as they try to get to me first is enough to make me smile.  I agree Camilla, even simple hikes are so much better with Murphy especially. I went on one Sat. and one of the first things I thought of was how soon can I come back and do it again with Murphy. Oh dear, are we really all just HOPELESS?

No, I know exactly what you mean! There have been a few times we've had to board Darwin to go on overnight trips. Every single time I was thinking "If Darwin was here he would be loving this!" or "I wonder how Darwin would feel about this?" or just plain "I wish Darwin was here". Sometimes when I even go on hiking trips or go swimming or whatever I think about how much more fun it would be if he was with me. :-)

Oh I can completely understand, I hate leaving them for any long periods of time.  Do you have to board them?  I used to love business trips but now the dread is so horrible.  Thankfully I haven't had to do it too much, the last time we had a in home pet sitter which worked great... just think how happy they will be to see you!!
