Okay. . .I won't post pictures today. . .that would just be too embarrassing for Finn because he ended up spending his first Easter getting a shave!!!! After 48 hours of constantly cleaning his poor stinky bottom I asked Teri (our breeder) what I should do and she said to go ahead and get him clipped/shaved. Well, I was going to take him in for it, but by last night. . .I couldn't take it anymore. . .I had to take action because we were running out of paper towels and the wet wipes just weren't working!!! Tallulah never had this problem, but I will say that their coats are very different and she never had as much "junk in her trunk" as Finn! He is just a total fluff butt! So, my husband pulled out the sheers that we had used on the boys many moons ago for neck trims and away we went. Again, I must say, kudos to Teri for socializing these pups so well. . .Finn never even flinched. . .he just let me shave it like he had done it a thousand times. . .over in less than a minute!

By this point I was getting carried away and decided I should trim Tallulah's eyes. I've never taken her in for grooming, but have done the trimming myself. . .I'm not saying it's pretty, but it gets the job done. So, I got out the new scissors that I bought for her eyes. . .and of course got carried away and started cutting all of the hair on her head. . .she looks like a lamb now. My family is once again, not impressed. . .but her hair grows so fast that in 2 days you won't even know I did it.

Ha! Wrigley is quite the fluff butt too! I don't think she would've been so calm while I was shaving her's though!

Somehow we (so far) have avoided this problem. Lucky us!!!

Shawn, I can just picture this!!! Thanks for making me laugh!!! At least for now. I may not be laughing when we pick up our girl from Teri in 9 or 10 weeks!!! Maybe one of characteristics people need to give Teri is "NO FLUFF BUTTS" please!! I love it!! Teri, I don't mean this. Any baby you think is right for us is wonderful, Fluff Butt and all.

I have created a monster! I will not visit you unless you promise you have put all sharp instruments away first. I like my hair. :)

I shaved our 16 week old Murphy's bottom about a month ago and it's still pretty short!!!! It almost looked like a bald spot which somehow seemed to spread bigger as he all of a sudden grew (he was around 12 weeks old at the time). But one or two days of "Dingle-berries" and I'm over the whole wiping his butt everytime!!!! We still get some "smears" but I plan on keeping it very short for good.
I found that thinning shears around the face and eyes works really well and gives a nice effect without looking too chopped. Got that from the grooming group blog. BTW.....lambs are cute!!!

Cali is much the same way. I have to wipe her bottom or keep her shaved. She has gotten used to it thank god as this is not one of my favorite activities. Years ago when I was in my teens, we had a neighbor who owned a Afghan dog. And they would have to clean its hiney and I remember thinking "oh how gross" and now I understand since I have my own furry bottom girl.
