Stranded without my Doodle

Last Thursday I dropped Rooney off at his pet sitter for his first ever overnight. I needed to fly early on Friday to help my daughter pack up her home as she is relocating to Atlanta. I planned to fly home today, Monday. I cried when I dropped Rooney off, I knew he would be happy with Linda - he stays during the day sometimes if I golf but I'd never left him for a night let alone 4 nights. Well I got to MI and every thing went well, we got things packed and loaded in a day with lots of help so when I heard the weather was taking a bad turn and I had to drive DH to the airport on Sunday - I decided to try to get outta here early to beat the storm. Was at the South Bend airport from 2 - 11:30 p.m. and neither of us could get out. Now I'm stranded in a blizzard in Michigan with out my Rooney Doodle. The sitter is being so sweet, and she adores Rooney but she is having to go buy him a bag of Orijen today as she is going to run out soon and who knows when I'll get home. Rooney - mommy is coming if I have to drive it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wish me luck - we are scheduled out on a flight tonight at 5:30 p.m. but it isn't looking good. Missing my boy :(

Glad you're finally home. I know how much I miss my guys just going to work everyday. I always bring my daughters doodle to the airport when I pick her up from any trips as she is just so anxious to see him. So fun to see that doodle look of recognition when he first see's his mommy and daddy. Just such a look of love.

 Glad you made it home.  Sounds like, fun bonding in the airport.  I would not have gone to a hotel either.   Maybe this time you and the pilot had a picture taken together???   Just joking.

There really is, No Place Like Home.  Especially when you get to come home to your dog.  Sleep Good

My Rooney Doodle and I are reunited at last!  I've been covered in doodle kisses - the absolute best kind! He totally forgives me for being gone so long, he even licked his brother and his brother let him!  There is going to be some major snuggling on the bed tonight!  Early too - I am worn out.  Happy ending.

YOU MADE IT!  It certainly does sound like the trip from hell, but at least you're home and you may even have Rooney with you by now.

So glad to hear you are home!!  I wish I could have come saved you!!  I don't know if there is a worse feeling than being stranded and you can do nothing about it!  Can't wait to hear about your happy reunion with your Rooney boy!!

OMD!  I just got back from the trip from hell.  Made it to Detroit last night only to miss the last flight to Fort Myers by 5 MINUTES because we sat on the runway for 35 minutes due to no gate to deplane at.  I was so worn out by that time I actually had tears in my eyes, o.k. I'll admit it and on my cheeks too.  I just wanted to get home so bad.  Delta offered a hotel off property but no way was I going to leave the airport alone.  Tried to sleep in a chair, froze to death as they don't heat the airport at night but I met some wonderful people and we laughed the night through.  Have to meet Rooney at the puppy sitters at 1:30.  Yippeee   I FINALLY GET MY BOY BACK!!!!!  Thanks to you all for your kind thougths and prayers during a really bad trip.   "There's no place like home".
