Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I got a little behind on puppy news--mostly because I have been busy housebreaking the last two! So, here is the latest. Daisy, who will keep her name, went hom on Monday, Nov 28th--she is doing well and has twin boys to play with--here is a picture of mom and dad and then one with the boys. She looks worried, but that is her natural expression!
Aren't they cute!!
So...that left me with purple pup (Honey bear) who was re-named Don Giovanni, and Patch (red) who was re-named Presto. Don Giovanni or Gio is heading to Italy next week to be part of a therapy dog breeding program--I have mentioned that already. He is super smart and full of spunk. Presto was supposed to stay in the breeding program, but is now being sold to a nice family --I just received word that they are meeting him tomorrow and most likely will take him home--it's time to get prepared for that emotionally. I have had these guys for ten weeks and I
thought Presto would stay here until January when the breeder got back from Italy--so, this is a big change. But frankly, I am tired and ready for a break. These two do not sleep after 5 a.m. and it is getting to me. And the housebreaking is an all day effort. It is going well, but ties you down. I have the whole family coming soon for the holidays, so i need to put puppies aside for a while. Sad, but true!!
Here are some photos of the last two boys!
First Presto-
and the two together!

Thanks for all the words of support--I needed them this morning. Presto was up at 3 am and again at 4:30. Taking the two pups out was a bit of an ordeal since we got about 6-8 inches of snow last night and they have never seen snow before--that woke them up! I managed to get a few winks before i fed them at 6. So, yes, I am tired and I need to sleep 6 or 7 hours straight to feel like myself again.
The breeder switched them to a grain-free food last week and we are going to switch them back to Wellness puppy food. The other food is making them poop 6-8 times a day (and night) so I think it is too rich for their systems and they are not sleeping because of that. Of course, by the time they are totally switched, they will be gone!
These two really get along very well and I agree that the hardest thing is to take them from their sibs. When Presto leaves today, Gio will be all alone in the kitchen. I doubt he will like that!
When I see them snuggling together it reminds me of what a wrench it must have been for Riley to be taken from his siblings and taken on such a long journey. He must have been the one on top because he always sleeps with his head raised and when I see your picture i understand why. Thanks you for sharing your wonderful puppy adventure and I do hope you have a peaceful and happy Christmas safe in the knowledge of a job well done sending all these babies into the world with the best possible start.
That bottom photo with them together is priceless! They are both adorable puppies. I can't even imagine having all of these puppies to snuggle and cuddle with, however I also cannot imagine taking care of all of them. Lucy and Sophie worn me out at times with just the two of them. I'm already looking forward to the next group of puppies.
It would be so nice if both could be picked up on the same day!!! It looks so cute seeing them together snuggled up. They are adorable but I do know what you mean for a break and some "me" time so to speak!!! You've done a great job with all the babies!
Congrats to the new owners!
I love watching these guys get bigger! They are beyond cute.
It's been so fun watching these puppies grow! They are beautiful and look so content! I know you will miss them but I know you will enjoy the break for a while! Good job and Merry Christmas! (loved your card, by the way!)
What beautiful boys. Enjoy your soon to come freedom.
I love Gio's little doodle head tilt! He'll be a big hit in Italy, I'm sure.
They are magnificent! Enjoy your family for the holidays and rest up from the puppies!
