10. That "Rescue" doesn't mean cheap. Between a very high adoption fee and his vet bills - we have $1,000 dollar puppy with no known medical history. Never thought I'd say it but I'm getting insurance on this little guy.
9. That puppy mills are very evil places and we must do more to enact laws that will stop the horrid treatment of animals and punish those that would starve a baby like this.
8. That we all need to educate our family and friends about puppy mills and stop the purchasing of animals from pet stores. They wouldn't stay in business if they didn't make money.
7. That Stuarts personality is nothing like Rooney's and is only going to add to the joy, laughter, fun, oh and work to our lives. LOL - He is a rambunctious little guy!
6. That I have a wonderful husband who gets the Little Green Machine out, scoops poop and pitches in without being asked. (O.K. - I already knew this one but I have to give him a lot of credit for putting up with me and my crazy ideas)
5. That even though I can't spell worth a darn I am now throwing words like Giardia and Coccidia around like a pro.
4. That "sharp" is a relative term. I thought that Rooney's baby teeth were sharp - Stuart's teeth are like pirrahna teeth - little shards of needles - ouch.
3. That trying to "catch" poop on a paper plate is a sport. There is an art to it and I'm learning fast. My neighbors must think I'm a nut as I walk around the yard with a tiny puppy, rubber glove on one hand and paper plate in the other.
2. That Rooney IS going to be happier having a brother to love and play with.
1. That I am getting more from loving Stuart than he is getting from me. Love runs deeper when you have no expections. I'm learning that I can handle more than I thought when it is done out of love!

Oh Jane...
What an adorable picture of Stuart!!
I just love the 10 things you've learned...but...I have a "sneaky feeling" that you've learned a whole lot more!!
Thank you for sharing the wonderful Stuart stories...and for sharing your heart with us!!
You are such a Great Doodle Mom....and Stuart and Rooney are such lucky Doodles to have you!!
Stuart looks so perfect...I keep thinking he is a stuffy! As usual Jane, I loved your blog. You are so clever. Can't wait to see more pictures of Rooney & Stuart together. You'll have to post month-by-month pictures of them...start with Stuart at 2 months (with Rooney) and indicate their weights. Then do at 3 months (with weights) and so on...it will be fun to look at how Stuart is getting bigger while it appears Rooney is getting smaller!
IMHO, adversity is what makes us all stronger. God doesn't give us anything we can't handle, but he gives us, many times, more than WE think we can handle. And there lies the difference! So very glad you rescued that cutie pie. He is going to be one lucky puppy.
Jane, first CUTE CUTE CUTE is all I can say about Stuart. Second, I am so happy that you are who you are, imagine someone meaningful but not quite as loving and not quite and understanding adopting Stuart, I only hope his siblings were just as fortunate as him. And finally third, I am so glad that you are sharing your story and what a beautiful one it is. I am 100% sure that everyone else who waits everyday for a glimpse into Rooney and Stuarts lives feels the same way.
Thank you!
