The Trials and Tribulations of Super Truffle

Greetings, friends. It's been some time since I last took over human mom's blog, but I've been saving the stories for just the right moment.  And it now seems that moment has arrived.
In a few short days I will be eight months old. There are days when I feel like I'm still a wee baby and then there are days when I feel like a senior canine citizen, an old pro just doing my thing.
I'm increasingly comfortable in my very fluffy fur. Human mom tried her best not to let the weather get in the way of her taking me on lots of walks during these last weeks of winter.  I couldn't get enough of the snow but she would have curled up in a ball and hibernated like a bear for several months if it was considered socially acceptable behavior.
However, since hibernation is not particularly recommended, she sucked it up and indulged my love for the white stuff by bundling herself up every day, several times a day, in order to get me moving.  She even slipped on the ice and bruised herself a few times, all for my sake.  I am truly humbled by her commitment to my well-being.
Although the snow has disappeared, I'm quickly realizing that spring isn't so bad. Now that the weather is warmer, human mom leaves the back door open so I can go out to the yard when I please.  I catch rays on the deck whenever I can.  The sun feels glorious on my fur.

Truffle you are just the cutest doodle, and I am sorry you and I am sorry you had to suffer through the trip. Hopefully your human mom has learned her lesson! Max says he completely understands the puke eating and he doesn't understand why we think it's so gross!

Jennifer I love your Truffle blog, it makes me smile. :)

Hi, Joanna. Thanks for reading the blog!  Actually, the photo is deceptive. Truffle was stretching out to show off. He's really just a ball of fur.  At 7 months a few weeks ago he weighed about 32 lbs. His mom is about 28 lbs and his dad about 38 lbs. We think he's almost done growing.  So - larger than a mini, but should max out between 35-40 lbs.

Hi, Lonnie. Thanks for the kind words - when you're in the throes of the puppy stuff (and a first-time adult owner like me), perspective is sometimes completely skewed. He did actually do quite well, all things considered. And we learned a lot, too - so overall, a difficult trip, but a worthwhile one.  Sorry to hear Libby's not a fan of the car - I don't know that Truffle will ever be, either - but we have no choice if we want to travel with him!

OMG why did I think Super Truffle was a MINI???  Just read your trip about Boston and saw your picture in the car and you are so not a mini LOL!

Truffle you are adorable and I'm sorry the trip wasn't your favorite thing to do, but I think you were one easy traveler!  Libby does not like the car at all!  Makes us sad:(  Love this blog and your pictures!  Truffle you are  growing up to be on beautiful Doodle!

Oh Truffle - you had a bad weekend in Boston!  Thank goodness you kept your sense of humor to go along with your adorable looks!

Thanks for the kind words about the blog, everyone.  It's so great to be part of a community that understands what it's like to raise a dog.
