Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I am so jealous of all you DK'rs with Doodles who will let you dress them up. So, this week I decided that at least Guinness could wear a Valentine bandana. I couldn't find one anywhere. So, even though I'm the least crafty person ever, off I went to the fabric store to buy Valentine and St. Patrick's Day material. I also bought "pinking scissors" so I could do this without ever breaking out the needle and thread (I was just going to "fray the edges like I used to do to my jean shorts, but the sales girl talked me into these scissors). If I ever even let DH know I own them, he'll be asking me to do things like sewing on his buttons. I'd much rather just throw the shirt out...makes sense, right? I never signed up to be a seamstress. So anyway, I cut out this fabric with my "pinking scissors" and the bandana was awesome (If I do say so myself, but you can be the judge). Guinness had a total fit. He was really mad at me. Here's the whole "ugly scene". I personally think he is just an ungrateful little "brat". How many Moms would make a homemade bandana for their little boy...not many, I'm thinking. At least that's what I told him, not that it did any good.

That is so so funny! Isn't it funny how some dogs don't mind bandanas and others have to get them off immediately? Peri could care less, which surprises me....

This is absolutely hilarious! I can't say much more than that. I could tell you that over time, he will get used to it, but I am not so sure. As Nancie said, Graciedoodle and Ned both have matching Valentines' bandanas. Tomorrow when they wear them, we will think of silly Guinness and have a little giggle. Maybe by St. Patrick's Day, Guinness will feel differently.

What an adorable video! Little Guinness is soooo cute. Too bad he doesn't like his bandana. I buy mine at the Dog Wash that we go to. I bought one for Gracie Doodle and Little Ned of Ned and Nancy (mailed it to her). Both have their pictures on their pages in the same scarf. Once Valentine's Day is over the St. Patrick's Day ones come out so I will have to go next week and buy more. I'm surprised you can't find them. The ones I get are nice because the are velcro. Be sure to post Guinness's video when you put the "green" one on him!!

That is so funny! I think the bandana looks great! I may have to get some scissors and fabric and make Timbow more bandanas too! :)

Ringo chewed off the Patriots bandana I made him for game days the first time he wore it. I think they both like to chew up fabric items. I can't even give Ringo Skinneeez as it's the fabric and not the stuffing that he likes. So no more bandanas at our house for a while either!

This is too funny. I can relate on a couple parts. Sophie also hates anything on her like this. She doesn't try to eat it or get it off, she just pouts ..... she runs to her bed or the sofa and just pouts! Additionally, when we were 1st married, DH was still in the Air Force. One day he asked me where the sewing machine was as he had some patches that needed sewn on. Thinking he wanted me to sew them on, and like you, I hate the thought of sewing, I told him the sewing machine was broken, just take them to the dry cleaners on Base and have them sew them on. Unknown to me, later that week he took the sewing machine to the repair shop and asked the guy to fix it .... thinking I would be really surprised that he did this for me ..... well, surprise was on him when the guy at the shop called him to tell him there was nothing wrong with the machine (except maybe it needed dusting). lol. That's when I found out he planned to sew the patches on himself, he didn't want me to do it! We still laugh about that after 24 years.

Great video! I have dressed Leo up, sadly for him, many times....it was never easy. I do need to mention he has many bandana's & not one is a triangle shape, he's bit off the corner on every one, including his therapy dog bandana. It has gotten easier now that he's a "big boy" at 2 1/2 but still have to watch or future one's would probably end up the same way!

That was one determined doodle. He really doesn't like wearing anything does he? That's a great video.
