Poe, Talullah and Clyde inspect the tree that fell and missed our house by a few feet. If only I could send them out there with a chainsaw to clean up the mess!
DeeDee and Sheila, we are OK. Thanks for asking! Three doods: Clyde (the black dog) is a DRC short-term foster. Talullah, of course, is my girl. And Poe? Well, Poe is my new boy. Listed with DRC as Floyd a few weeks back, he's a foster who stole my heart. He decided to stay with us forever. And I'm so glad he did!
Oh - and I haven't used a blow drier since 2003. I've embraced the curl.
I know I am raising a puppy but 1) I have been wondering if you are ok out there-surreal pic and 2) how are there now 3 doodles in your yard--have I been that out of the loop? Seriously, I'm glad u ar ok even tho you probably don't have the blow dried look at this moment. Check your insurance?
The power went out immediately after I posted the photo on Saturday, and came back on a few hours ago (Monday). We are fortunate. We had three more trees down in our yard, and a ginormous one across our shared driveway... and through our neighbor's dining room ceiling. No one was hurt in our neighborhood. We are so, so fortunate.
After a new chain saw (my husband is like a kid in a candy store!) and some hastily put up deer fencing, Three Doods Tree Service is back in business. Three doods, a hurricane and no fence was NO FUN!
You were fortunate. I can't believe how many people are still without power and all the damage caused. They are telling folks around here that some of them may not get power back til Thursday! We were fortunate too. some branches down, and the power is back on.
THAT is one HUGE tree! Looks like there is a hydro wire in the air too. The tree could have taken that down and maybe leaving the street with no power. Good luck cleaning it up now...I hope you have a wood burning fireplace. Love the picture of the investigator doods with their tails at attention.
