Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

So I'm surfing, not hanging ten, but planting two on the couch and well I stumble across this.  My first response is "Wow, I love it!" It's sleek, elegant and funky.  Then, I'm thinking, would this actually work on a doodle.  Zoe's hair is just about like this dog's and maybe if it grows out a bit more will work.  If it looks horrid, her hair will grow back before the spring shows.  But, [there's always a but] then I had way to many second thoughts........which always made me go back to if I don't like it, it'll grow back.  So I am asking you, my extended doodle family.  What say you?

That is my dood. Neely would look like that with shaved feet and face. I hate it personally. And why was she formerly known as butterscotch? Is she now in the doodle protection program, is that why she's trying to look poodley? What could she possibly seen that she needs protection from? Apparently she's not saying, and we're barking up the wrong tree if we think she's gonna start talking!

ok i'm off the deep end!

If you like the look - go for it!  Like you said it will grow back if you don't like it once it's done.  You could always start with just the shaved face.  It gives a nice clean look.

See that's my problem.  I love the doodley look.  Sometimes Zo gets so doodley she looks like an OES.  But I really love the elegant look and the fact that you can see her face, and no mess with the feet.  It would makes things so uncomplicted, though the coat would need just as much if not more brushing but it seems I have to comeb zo every ohter day anyway ortherwise she looks scraggley.  I just hate new haircuts on myself or my dogs....it's a stress factor.  But I agree this is a beautiful dog.

Wow, this is a beautiful dog! I, like some of the others, prefer the more doodley look with the longer hair on the muzzle and feet. However, what I don't like about the doodle cut is that Tara's eyes are constantly disappearing behind either her muzzle hair which has grown upward or her bangs which start hanging down over them. This cut would solve that problem!!

This looks like a longer version of the classic poodle puppy cut.  I think it looks great.

I think it's an awesome look for a doodle or poodle. You of course are right when you say it will grow out if you happen to not like it. I think if you are interested in trying it then you should go for it!

I sometimes get Porter's face shaved close.  I love how soft it feels and seeing more of his expression.  Here is a pic of him looking like a wrinkled Lab.
