Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Greetings goldendoodle and labradoodle owners! I haven't posted in a while. Anyway, I bet the real reason you are reading my blog is not to hear me talk about how many times I post, but you are here to hear about Tucker, my goldendoodle! If you read my blog, you have probably heard about Doggy Day Care. Well, my mom had a buisness trip for her work (how fun!) and had to leave for two days. Well, the day before mom had to go on her boring trip, she dropped Tucker off at daycare... and he stayed there for three whole days! Tucker had so much fun playing with his pal, Monster. Monster is a Great Dane who has become very fond of Tucker. Suprisingly, Tucker is almost as tall as Monster! Well, three days at doggy day care is a bit much for Tucker, and so on the second day he was there, he passed out asleep in the middle of the floor! The owner of the Day Care told us later, "Many dogs lay down to rest, but none of them, except for Tuck, sleep in the middle of the play area!"
I don't understand how Tucker could actually sleep with all those other pups barking around him. That isn't the only Tucker news lately; he has done something very naughty. Well, I came home from the park with my sister, and I saw Tucker on the floor, cocking his head side to side as he tried to look innocent. I immediatly knew something was up. I walked over to Tuck cautiously and reached out to pet him. He jerked his head away and his tail wasn't wagging. I put my hand under his soft muzzle so he could give me a kiss, but his mouth stayed shut. Tucker is a big licker, so I knew he had something in his mouth. I stood up ever so carefully and waited for Tucker to look away. Now was my chance. I lunged on the fuzzy puffball and he scampered away just in time. I sprinted around the couch. I sware I felt like I was in some blockbuster action movie. I knew chasing him wouldn't work, even though I held the record in my elementary school for running the mile in six minutes 11 seconds. So, I walked away and waited for him to settle down. Then I snuck around the couch and crouched down low so Tucker wouldn't see me. I felt like a spy, not wanting to be seen by the enemy...er...dog. I took a deep breath and pounced on top of his big furry bottom. I caught him by the collar just in time. i swatted his nose. He knew he was trapped, so he finally gave him. I was disgusted as I saw him spit out a foul smelling sock that he dug out of the laundry. I was amazed. Tucker looked up at me and grinned, literally. It wasn't just a little smile with no teeth. It was a big toothy smile. Kate (my sister) and I were laughing hysterically as we turned on the TV. Tucker sat down to watch with us and yowled at the beagle in the movie Shiloh. I made up a song that night, as I lay in bed stroking Tucker. It goes to the tune of The 12 days of Christmas.
On the twelfth day of christmas My goldendoodle ate, twelve barbie dolls, eleven stinky socks, ten ornaments, nine things from the pantry, eight packs of gum, seven medals for swimming, six number two pencils, FIVE STUFFED ANIMALS!, four bead necklaces, three wrenches, two report cards, and a photo of our christmas tree!
I hope you comment!
Tucker's perspective: I didn't eat THAT many barbie dolls! I ate about twenty!

I sure hope Tuckeris only a sock stealer and not a sock eater. Winston has now made two trips for surgery to remove socks that would not pass.
I am so glad to hear about the fun time he had at Doggy Day Care, but the sock thing...hmmm, not too sure about that! You are a great writer Laney, very creative!
Tucker, you need to stick to plan ole' begging, it works so much better! ~ Dublin
Tucker,
Your girl pet, Laney, is just too smart for you even though you are one smart dood. I would lay off the socks and counter surf for real food instead!

Tucker, You are too cute :)
Silly Tucker, socks are not for doodles.
