Vacations in Maine

Laurie's blog about her beach trip reminded me of the trip we take to Maine each year.  My friends (well, their parents) own a place in the middle of nowhere in Maine.  I've known the family since 4th grade, which was 1978, but a few other friends and I finally started going with them to Maine in 1996.  Counting this year, which we're missing, we've only missed 4 years since then.  I'm really missing it this year.  The property is a collection of a few small cabins on a pond.  There's the main cabin, which can sleep 9 if it has to, but usually there are around 7 of us.  There are 2 other very small cabins just big enough for a bed and some luggage.  And then there's my favorite, the sauna cabin.  I miss that one most of all.  We'll get back there next year.  In the mean time, I've been watching these videos that I made a few years ago.  My mom went with us on that trip, and another friend's parents were there for a couple of days, too.  Here are the links to the videos.  I just wanted to share them.

The rabbit in the video is Purple Bunny.  The rabbit in the caption contest photo is Bunnykins.  My best friend and I each have a Bunnykins, and over the course of a few years, we took Bunnykins on our vacations and sent pictures to each other.  Sort of like a Flat Stanley idea, but before Flat Stanley.  I also took Bunnykins when I went to visit her, and we staged a wedding between the Bunnykins.

This looks like the perfect vacation. I am glad you explained about the cabins, because I watched the one video and wondered it those small buildings actually housed people. Also, is that the same rabbit being tossed around that is in the new caption contest? Enjoyed the videos and post!!
