where has the time gone?

I can not believe that Lilly will be 5 months old next week. Tomorrow she is getting her first hair cut at the groomer's and then on Tuesday my baby is getting fixed.

I was in DC for 10 days in grandson land. Lilly and DH spent the time really getting to know each other. Up until then, I was the primary dog keeper and he just had fun with her.  They did great. She trained him to listen for the bell to go out and had him walk her everyday. She only had one accident (in the bedroom on the carpet) while i was gone.  He brushed her every night and they rocked in the chair. I was very impressed.

We moved Lilly's crate into the living room since she is only in there when we leave. She sleeps with me. I love having her at the foot of the bed. She has a blanket on the bed that she pulls and paws to get it just right and then plops down with a big sigh. She sleeps from whenever I go to bed to about 7 AM.  I try to take her for a walk in the morning and then one in the evening. She knows the words; walk, treat and outside. Her big girl teeth are coming in and the biting is almost history. She has yet to attend puppy school since we are so far away from one. She will entertain herself with her toys and loves to play fetch. She is learning to drop the ball but is not consistant. If I am watching TV, she wants to be in my lap. She follows me around the house like-well a puppy.

She is a joy and I am gald that I didn't sell her to the gypsies those first few nights.

Ruby was 5 months yesterday and it sure does go by quickly. She is getting her hair cut right now. I can't wait to see her. She is getting fixed on November 10th. I'm not looking forward to that. Part of the process I guess. It is nice to hear about another dog going through the milestones with Ruby. Good luck on Tuesday Lilly!

It is amazing how quickly the time goes by.  I can remember thinking it was taking forever for that 1st birthday to come so Sophie could take her Therapy test.  Now all of a sudden, somehow, she is 3.5.  Where did the time go.  Good luck with the grooming and the spay.  Of course we will want picks of her first haircut and hopefully you have some adorable little ruffled pink panties to put over her incision so she will leave it alone!
