Yesterday it was 95 here and hot. The bear we named Chicago was very hot too. First picture -Chicago
is sitting in the automatically filled water bucket that is supposed to be drinking water for the deer and other animals.
Second picture - Chicago is really in the bucket - probably need new bucket, definitely need to clean it out if still intact.
Third picture. Here's looking at you. After a half an hour in his spa, Chicago needs a rubdown. Poor bear, has to do it himself on the trees, no bear masseuse available. In this picture he is looking right at us. We are on sundeck and he is about 30 feet or so uphill.
Fourth picture - Homeward Bound. Doodles are exhausted and have quit barking and settled on the patio furniture for a nap, so Chicago goes west three homes to annoy the two basset hounds there. We can here them bay, which sets of Roo and Tigger again briefly.

Wow! Stay safe!
Amazing story and great photos! It so nice that you can live in harmony with your furry neighbors.
This is so exciting - as long as you and the doods are safely inside.
Great pictures, I also love the ones of him in the bucket.
WOW, how cool! It's so sad that we are taking over their living space and they are the ones who suffer... We actually had a woman attacked by a Florida bear here a few weeks ago. She lives in the suburbs and was outside her home, was attacked and lived to tell her story. Here is the story

OMD! I can't even imagine being this close to a bear except at the zoo! And I love his name!
Lori and Quincy--HA HA! So true.
Nice photos. I like how you just let him go and accept a bear lives there.
Last year, they came up with every excuse to shoot a Black Bear that seemed to be just passing through. WTH?
Wow, I hope he doesn't get too comfortable around your yard!
