No, I have not posted a blog for a looonnnggg time. It isn't that there hasn't been stuff going on... just the opposite, there has been way too much stuff going on! However, today I had to take a moment to write about what happen with Remington this morning!

Well, I think that the whole Rhoton family is stir crazy from being stuck inside most of the winter. Especially our Remi Bear! It has been so nice out lately and he has been loving going on walks with his Mom and Dad again :) Although this morning, we woke up to rain... lots of it!

I got up my usual time with Remington (6am) because he knows its time to eat... so downstairs we went. After he ate breakfast, it was time to go outside to pee and poop. He was not too thrilled with the rain coming down... so he seemed to do his business a bit faster than usual. This was nice for me :) However, I had noticed almost 20 fish worms wiggling around on our back stoop. They had come up from the ground to visit because of all the rain. Well, of course, Remington took interest in them and before I knew it he was in the house with 3 huge fish worms hanging from his mouth! YUCK! So take a moment to picture this... me prying my dogs mouth open and pulling the worms out one by one... so gross! Why is it that dogs like gross things??? UHHHGGG! Wouldn't it have made a great picture though!

I guess that breakfast just wasn't enough for Remington this morning.... :/

The only thing I can think of that would be even worse is for the worms to attach to their hair and then the Doodle brings the worms in the house. Every now and then Gracie will have a "slug" on her because she sat in a flower bed and one attached. That is totally gross, especially when she then jumps up on the bed after going potty and she brings the slug with her!!!!! Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww You want to hear a scream???

Guess your dog doesn't like dealing with those annoying bones that get stuck in one's teeth when one eats sources of protein that have backbones.

I went to pick up a small twig that was on the carpet this morning and it moved! Yep, a worm. Gavin did his best sit/stay (thankfully) while I went for a kleenex to pick it up. That was after I was done shreiking from the surprise of the "twig" moving between my fingers! Time for an eye check-up I guess.

Look on the bright side. Worms must be full of protein : )

Guinness has never had much interest, put the puppy is another story. He can't wait to taste "worm"...I'm thinking it's a rare delicacy for dogs. Luckily I've been able to spot them before he can get to them and completely spoil his fun. One of these days I know I just won't be quick enough. I give you so much credit for prying them out of his mouth. I think I'd be tempted to let him "have at it" rather than having to touch those worm "guts"....Yuck!

That would have made a hilarious picture! So far, Callie prefers rolling on dead worms to eating live ones. She did consume a slug before I could stop her (last summer) and I was able to rescue a a frog out of her mouth (would have been another good photo op)

Darwin hasn't come across a worm yet. But you can bet when he does, it will be straight to his mouth!

Peri looooooves worms. She just ate one while we took our lunch walk today. YUMMY =)

Mmmmm...Rosco and Thule loved worms. We have one section of our lawn that is almost constantly shaded so it provides a nice cool wet area for worms to thrive. I used to find them digging with their noses in that area (and only that area) on many occasions.

We had lots of worms on the patio this morning as well ..... raining here to. I noticed that Lucy and Sophie looked at them but guess I'm lucky as they didn't feel the need to eat them! Would have been a great picture though. Here's to hopefully some sunshine after today.
