What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!: Duke the F3 Australian Medium Labradoodle born Sept. 22, 2009.
He came home at the beginning of Jan. 2010.

Where did you get your doodle(s)?: Breeder

Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?: Saw one, wanted one, own one. Love the attitude and looks.

What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?: Watch him grow, play, and teach him new tricks.

Does your doodle(s) shed?: Nope!

Who grooms your doodle(s)?: Dover Petsmart, and home brushing in between

Favorite Doodle Products?: Slicker Brush, comb that twirls when combing. A pair of children Fisker scissors for face trimming.

Basic obedience class

Duke and I have started obedience class. Oh my, we have learned our flaws in that Duke can't walk and accept a treat at the same time. I am uncoordinated to click, hold a leash and give a treat at the same time. We are a perfect match. I also learned you don't feed a dood before class, as they work much harder for a treat when they are hungry. We will practice to become more multi-tasking.

At 7:28pm on July 26, 2011, Nancy, Ned, Clancy, and Charlie said…: I was unaware that the therapy test was essentially the same test with a higher standard and I think if I had worked just a bit more with Ned and Clancy, they would have passed both easily. Note that there are different collar requirements for CGC and Therapy certificates. Ned and Clancy could have taken both tests on the same day if I had signed up. So my advice is to sign up for both - it is pretty cheap to take and if he doesn't pass, you will know exactly what to work on. I would practice both short specific skill sessions as well as long practices (so he knows he has to pay attention for longer periods. We didn't do treat or clricker training, but if you did, I would extinguish the treats or clicker to lots of praise. Does this help at all?
