Kathy, I'll keep Mater and you in my thoughts for his second surgery. At least you know the drill now.

Monty was a little over 4 when he blew his knee. I think it happened while running on a beach when we visited San Diego.

I can't wait to celebrate a last session!  Mater had his 1st CCL surgery in December, but then developed auto-immune hemolytic anemia and had to be treated for that before he ever got healed.  He blew out the 2nd CCL just after being released to walk at 8 weeks and we have had to wait until he was completely off the prednisone before he could have surgery on it.  So next Tuesday he has his 2nd surgery and then we go through all of that rehab again.  Our surgeon said that they are finding genetic links for being predisposed to CCL ruptures and tears. Mater was 8-1/2 when his went out, so it could just be his age.  They can test Newfoundlands for it now though!  I'm so glad for you that Monty is done with all this!
