I always keep a good eye on Chewie when he has a bully and when it's chewed down to what I think is small enough, it's off to the garbage. Last night at my daughter's he was chewing on one that was just about at that point. The kids were running around being crazy and he decided to join the fun. He ran up the stairs after them with it in his mouth and when he came back down, he was minus the bully stick. We looked everywhere, couldn't find it, so I'm assuming he swallowed the last couple inches. He seems perfectly fine, normal poop this morning, ate breakfast with his usual enthusiasm.

Should I be worried (or course I am)? I know they advertise 100% digestible, but exactly what does that mean...will it dissolve in his stomach? It was the Moo brand, so a good quality one.

I wouldn't worry about it, Laura. Jack eats his all the way down to nothing, and no problems. I know you're worried that the last part was swallowed whole & not chewed, but it shouldn't make much difference. It won't "dissolve" in his stomach, it'll be digested like the rest of it.
Watch him for the rest of the day, and if his appetite and poop stay normal, I'd forget about it.
Timbow eats his all the way too and we've never had any problems. :)
Same for Murphy and he's been swallowing the last 2-3" whole since he was a puppy. It scared me at first and I do get it away from him when I can when it's that small, but he's never had a problem. Now if it were 3" of rawhide, I'd be more concerned. That's why bully sticks are so much better as they are digestable. But like Karen said, if everything else is going in and coming out with no problem today, then you should be fine.
Thank you so much...you've all made me feel much better!
Agnes also eats all of hers. She loves those things! We've never had a problem.
I got my puppy a softer, puppy nylabone today and my older doodle Luah got ahold of it... I didn't keep an eye on her because I thought it was sturdy enough... Within 15 minutes Luah had almost 2" chewed off of the end of it and swallowed! I'm sure the nylabone will be ok in her stomach but none the less I think I'll stick to the tougher nylabones in the future.
I have to watch Tori too with these. I get her the most powerful chewer ones, but she is such a strong chewer that she shreds them quickly. Never do I leave her unattended with one. Yesterday she must have gotten a very small piece off and she vomited a bit. In it I saw the small piece of the bone... scary. (Of course I freak out any time she throws up being the 'worry freak' that I am since her pancreatitis and screw swallowing episodes)
The first time I gave Holly a bully stick she swallowed it whole within 2-3 minutes. She was only about 5 months and it was a small bully stick, like 4 inches in length, probably too small for her to be chewing on. Anyways I walked by her while she was chewing it and she thought I was going to take it from her so she gulped the whole thing down. I called the vet and they said to watch for bloating, diarrhea, puking, or no BMs at all. She was fine though, thank goodness. I'm sure Chewie is fine too :).
Don't worry! Sandy, my ALD, sometimes eats his bully stick to the end before I can get it from him. If he can't digest it, he vomits the bit usually 7-10 hours later. It's never harmed him and unlike rawhide, it doesn't congeal in his stomach.
Our ALD does the same exact thing as Sandy does....sometimes she gets the last bit swallowed and will vomit it up hours later. (Usually in the middle of the night.) We try to get the last 2" away, too, but we're not always successful. I have found that the braided bully sticks are a bit better for this because Nugget "unbraids" the last few inches and eats them in thinner strips which don't seem to come back up.
Well it's been over 24 hours and all is well. I really appreciate all the support!
HUH... Chewie, Chewie, Chewie..... here you are again making your mommy worry. I'm telling you Laura, these two (Tori & Chewie)MUST be related somehow!!! Good luck. Ususally Tori eats paper towels and it comes back up - usually during the night. I go to walk her in the morning and right there in her crate is the paper towel she tried to digest... vomited up.
