Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Bodi has been having diahreah. Unfortunately he did it twice in my son's room. On . . . the light blue carpet .The spray on cleaner does not seem to be working! Does anyone have a carpet cleaner that is light weight?? I have a bad back and can not carry anything too heavy. BTW I fed Bodi homemade chicken and rice and that usually settles his stomach . . . .so I'm not JUST thinking about the carpet. The doodle comes first!

Spot Shot usually works well for me and Natures Miracle Advanced takes out the stain & odor. Try some pumpkin in the chix and rice for the tummy.
I keep seeing Natures Miracle but I am afraid to try this. I am allergic to carpet cleaners, scotch guard, Frabreeze and a few other products. It feels like there is a hand strangling my neck, dizziness, and then headache. After wards I come down cold like symptoms. :(

Does Natures Miracle have an odor? Is it a carpet cleaner?
Yes it has an odor but it's not perfumy.
It does have a bit of an odor. Carpet cleaner bothers my allergies too. I don't particularly inhale while using Natures Miracle -- I kinda hold my breath while spraying, but so far it hasn't bothered my allergies -- no sneezing, headache, etc. That being said, I have only used it a few times on carpet (most of our house is hardwood so I use the Nature's hardwood formula).
I work at a pet store and people rave about Natures Miracle. I personally havent used it. Instead i use vinegar and baking soda. When we moved house Cooper had a nasty accident on the cream carpet (the cats have also vomited on the carpet). I clean up what I can, then sprinkle down LOTS of baking soda and then pour some vinegar onto it. The baking soda will bubble. I leave it for half an hour then vacume it up. Sometimes it takes a little scrub or a couple of soaks to get the stains out. My only problem with this is that it cleaned too well, and now we have a super clean area on the carpet lol
Thanks Kaytlin,
Good idea on the baking soda/ vinegar mix. I think I will stick to home remedies. I use an ammonia mix right now and it seems to be just fine.
I use the vinegar. Spot shot is great too!
Here is how to mix it if you don't have the baking soda on hand.

I second the vinegar suggestion, it works amazingly well. Baking soda works great for odor as well.
Believe it or not regualr old toothpaste works too.
I am not a big fan of Nature's Miracle. We used it a couple of times when Nug was a pup and it wasn't as good as vinegar and baking soda.
I am a big fan of Spot Shot for pet stains. Then I spray the area with vinegar and water mix to get rid of odor.
Try a couple tablespoons of plain yogurt to help settle his tummy. It worked for my guy. He loves it.
One thing I have always had on hand was a Bissell Little Green Machine. It worked wonderfully for cleaning up all the messes when Sheba & Duke were potty training or for cleaning up vomit. I also used an earlier model when my kids were little to clean up spills etc. It's pretty compact and has a carry handle on it and doesn't weigh much, maybe 15 lbs. or less. I have used it in my car also for spilled coffee/pop/and to clean the carpeting. I think I paid around $70-$80 for it but has saved my carpet and like I said it's easy to use in your car too. If you'd like to try it Doris let me know. I could drop it off. Hope Bodi is feeling better soon.
