What is your doodle's favorite biscuit-type treat (that you can buy in a store)? I've tried all sorts and have yet to find one that Noah actually likes. He completely snubs his treats until he thinks Sherlock is interested. I usually end up throwing most of the dog treats away because they never eat them. Noah really likes the dogwell treats, jerky-type treats and bully sticks... but I'd like to find a "cookie" style treat that he can enjoy.
Jack's the same way, and I've just stopped trying. He gets the Dogswell jerky, Zuke's jerky type treats, and Jones Natural Chews. Jones is a great company for treats, everything's made in the U.S., right here in Illinois. Most dogs also go crazy for Baa Baa Qs, but Mr. Picky Fussy will take them or leave them. He is just not food motivated. He goes through phases. For the last two days, all he'll take are the Jones liver taffy treats. Everything else ends up lying on the floor until someone steps on it and throws it out. Next week he'll turn up his nose at the Jones treats. Sigh.
I have found some locally made gourmet biscuits that he will occasionally eat, but they're too expensive to play games with him. I tell myself the protein treats are better for him than the ones with grain anyway. Sigh again.
Mine prefer venison jerky treats but they also like the Blue Dog Bakery Peanut Butter molassas cookies. They smell great. I used to get them at the grocery but can't find them there lately. Recently I did find some at PetSmart.
Both of my dog's love the Three Dog Bakery's Lick ‘n Crunch Carob Dog Cookies (Vanilla Flavor Filling)....they look like Oreo's! They get one a day in the morning and can't wait everyday...
Timbow goes for more of the jerky type treats too. I did find some great treats at Costco (of all places.. I actually think they may sell them at wal mart too). They are from a small California based company called Think Dog! Organic and we bought the oven-baked peanut butter cookies. They are wheat and corn free as well as USDA certified organic. Timbow loves them and i bought a 4lb box (there are 4 -1lb sealed bags inside) for $9.99. Karen and I looked at the company and they seemed good and they are made in USA.
Ingredients: (all organic)
Oat Flour, Barley Flour, Molasses, Peanut Butter, Expeller Pressed Canola Oil, Mixed Tocopherols.
After that little commercial for them (lol) I will say that although Timbow likes them, my mom's shih tzu did not. They are healthy and a great price though so it might be worth a try. :)
Duncan has never refused a single treat=). He loves zukes treats and dogswell chicken strips too but he also enjoys the basic milkbone biscuit or cookie. I also like the old mother hubbard peanut butter cookies. They come in different sizes so if i want to use for training i get the little ones. But if I want him to lay down and enjoy i give him the larger size.
He also likes lorne doones but i have a sweet tooth so i rarely share my cookies with him (hee hee)
I'm probably not a good one to respond to this question because I haven't found a treat yet that Chewie doesn't like. From Dogswell chicken to sweet potatoes to Buddy Bisquits to you name it, he loves them all.
I was wondering about these Think! Dog cookies. I looked them up and found the store finder. They said they sold them at Petsmart, Costco, and Walmarts in Canada. I looked at all three websites and couldn't find any treats listed under that brand name. Do any of you possibly know where I can find these online? My internet search was less than fruitful. I have been wanting to try those Wet Nose treats... Darwin is like Adina's dogs... he eats anything!
They do sell them at Petsmart, Costco, and Walmart, even if they're not listed on the websites. I didn't find them sold through any interent websites, either; I think you have to go to the stores.
Wet Noses are sold at a chain called "Pet Supplies Plus" in my area, also at small independent boutique type pet supply stores.
