Ok doodlers.  Now I ask you, seriously.  Didn't you have to buy a bunch of stuff for your doodle before the big arrival date--just like for a new baby?  My DH took one look in the dining room where I display the "layette" and he about stroked out.  With the indispensable help of you DKers recommending products it has been non stop UPS around here.  But what is a mother to do???  Doesn't everyone have a Spot Bot, Bullysticks (he was totally disgusted w/ this one), Cowboy Magic detangler, Les Pooches brushes, combs, diaper bag and stroller (for trip to Maine), everlasting treat chews, crates, gates, and doggie bed????????  Nothing from our former labs is going to fit a mini ALD, is it?  And I could never afford the really good stuff when our kids were little.  How do I butter him up?  Maybe I should have hidden it all better at least until the little bundle of joy got here, huh?  I won't even mention all "his" ski items I just folded from his last trip hehe.

Ha-ha! You betcha. My dh found out that Jonas was coming by finding a little crate in the box in the trunk of the car. He was like who is that for? I said "Jonas" before I even knew where I was going to find my little cockapoo. I also had a snuggapuppy, toys, all kinds of goodies!
Go crazy. You are afterall a new doodle mom and trust me, you will need all of this stuff. Re the bully sticks, my DH doesn't know what they REALLY are... or I don't think he would allow them in the house!!!
Never did the bully sticks... my last Golden retriever used to get the rawhide, but he'd have it pulled apart and swallowed (just to come back up) in no time, so this time we stick to the nylabones. She loves them and they're really durable. (what exactly are bully sticks????, I think II'm afraid to ask)
Bull penises.
Oh yes, I told DH that they were bull tendons. He was doing great with that wrong info until one of my friend's DH's informed him of what they really are! He was not so happy about our Timbow chewing on them. Timbow loves bully sticks so much though that DH's gotten over it!
I'm still giggling at the term "layette" for your puppy stuff =) Puppy deserves it! Just tell your hubby that at least I'm not making you paint her nursery!
Oh, I took the bully stick thing seriously and got it from the "stinkless" company recommended by fellow DKers. I got them from bullysticks.com. The brochure they sent with the er "tendons", I love that term, Judy, but the brochure that came with is REALLY SCARY. The distributing company is called Butch's treats w/ a big bulldog w/ huge teeth on the front. Then when you page through the brochure, you can have your choice of tasty Beef Trachea, Tripe Chips (?), duck breast treats, puffed pig snouts (I kid you not) and Baa-Baa Ears. It is really quite sickening!! It also has elk jerky and Grizzly Nu Treats. I would really be afraid to work for this company. ewwww. Have any of you ordered this stuff???
My poor pups have all been deprived!!! They got collars and leashes if they didn't come with one, a crate if we used one, food and water dishes, dog poop bags, and a toy of their choosing, plus spot remover. THEN, we added the "toysonsale" and name tag, deterrent spray, nylabones, travel water bowl, brush, a different food. THEN - more "toysonsale" a softer crate pad or doggie bed, a different food (get this pattern), hollow bones, peanut butter, and maybe training treats. Then began the suppliment hunt. Then, for Ned began the great grooming hunt! Cowboy magic shampoo, Cowboy Magic mat junk, LesPouchs brush, steel comb. MGT brush, Mane and Tail Detangler, Finishing spray, spray bottle (for the finishing spray) scissors/seam ripper, and of course, "toysonsale." Some of you were a bit more organized and began with the stuff you needed - looking back, it just might have been easier! Except the "toysonsale" part - I mean you can get great Halloween toys around Thanksgiving and Santa's at Valentine's Day etc. - I save 'em back for the next year!
The bully sticks were lifesavers in the beginning. I don't care how much they stink, she loved them and it kept her fully occupied.
