I ran this idea by Karen this morning and she thought it would be a good idea, so...

Most of that chicken crap is dangerous...watch out!!!
I only give Cloudstar and similar biscuits, antlers and fruits/veggies for snacks/chews now. And a few brands of bully type stix are still okay.
Curious...what brand of antlers do you give. I've always considered them but was too scared to give them. Do they eat the entire thing or do you take it away before it's too small. Also, bully stix..what brand, I have been using Pet Carousel Beef Steer pizzles. Know anything about them? Thanks
I buy Old West brand beef tendons; 100% U.S. product
Jones Natural products are U.S. made, too.
The brand many people use is Antlerz...there's a review in the "Reviews" section here on DK.
Nature's Variety Issues Nationwide Voluntary Recall on Raw Frozen Chicken Diets
Nature's Variety has initiated a voluntary recall of their Chicken Formula Raw Frozen Diet for dogs and cats with a "Best If Used By" date of 11/10/10 because these products may be contaminated with Salmonella. The only products affected are limited to chicken medallions, patties, and chubs with a "Best If Used By" date of 11/10/10. No other Nature's Variety products are affected. http://www.truthaboutpetfood.com/articles/natures-variety-issues-na...
Dog Food - with all these recalls,is it any wonder I still like to make my own. That's not
100% - but it's about 1/2 of their diet. Seems like the common denominator in some of
these food items and children's items too, is that they're made in China. I think we're
all learning the hard lesson of too frugal, "Made in China", is not a good idea when it comes
to our Children and Pets. I realize not all of these recalls are the inexpensive ones.
Many of us feed dry (some along with other food), but it seems
so scary that any of the foods could be next on the list.Getting paranoid.
Thanks for maintaining this discussion. Will continue to monitor.
Many of us have also made that decision, Gail. China is a big part of the problem, but so is Big Commercial Dog Food profits. Check out the rest of The Food Group discussions, we have a wealth of good, solid research and evaluations of foods and treats.
