Our Murphy has always slept in our bed, but since the get-go he made his place at the foot of the bed and will not come up by us or stay up by the pillows no matter how many times I move him up to me. He's so soft and cuddly and I like petting him as I fall asleep. Anyone else's doodle just refuse to sleep near them?

Jordi sleeps on the bed when Daddy is not home.Well, she is like Jackdoodle. She stays till I turn off the light ( I read before bed) then she hops down to her dog bed. I have tried to get her to stay and she wont.
Webber has slept on the bed with me since the day I brought him home. I would really miss his being there if he were to change his mind. He usually stretches out next to me, rather than sleeping at the foot...at least during the winter. If it gets too hot, he moves to the floor for a while, but usually comes back up and is always there in the morning. He looks so happy to see me when I say hello in the morning. What a companion he is.
Both Winston and Freya sleep in the bed with me. When my husband was alive only our old Springer was allowed on the bed. Everyone else (2 dogs) had a bed on the floor. There is a dog bed in the bedroom, but it is only used during the day when the dogs are upstairs. The dogs are not allowed on the bed except at night and they seem to understand that; they always wait until the dog blanket is put out before they jump up.
Winston will cuddle until I turn the light out, then me moves to the end of the bed. Freya moves next to me as soon as the light goes out. Winston likes to sleep on his side or on his back, he takes up lots of space. I may have a king size bed, but I have very little personal space.
It is interesting that they understand the limits of not being on the bed in the daytime and waiting for the dog blanket to be put out. They are so smart. i'm jealous that Freya lays next to you, Murphy is totally a loner when it comes to his sleeping.
Boston sleeps in bed only if one of us is missing. My hubby works different shifts in the oilfield and we were wondering why when he wasn't a puppy anymore that he was getting up in the middle of the night. We figured it out, Boston wanted hubby out of bed so he could get in. As soon as your feet are on the floor he's on your pillow. He sleeps on the pillow and snores all 85lbs of him.
