my morgan makes the most hysterical noises when playing with his food ball...moans, groans, yips, barks, etc  then this past weekend i gave him & the corgis butcher bones for the 1st time (at least since i adopted him) & first time for the corgis.  omg the hysteria from him, if only i had a video camera it went on for hours then he had to nap only to start all over again...LOL  sometimes he was on his back holding the little bone like he was an otter, first all splayed out then his hind legs stretched out like he was doing some kind of yoga move then back to the flat on his back splayed out relaxed doggy position with all the noises...

you know he also makes these moaning noises when i use certain sounds for my cell phone alarms in the morning...:)

anyone else get the doodle opera?

morgan also has this funny thing when he comes across new things for the 1st time, he slowly goes up to them pokes them quickly with his nose then jumps back waiting to see what happens....anybody else see this, my corgis just smell things & move on (of course they might pee on it 1st...lol)

No noises from my doodle, but that sounds absolutely hilarious!
The only noise I get is when Finn is wrestling with Yankee, he sounds just like Chewbacca. It is so funny to listen to.
It's funny...some Doodles are very vocal and others are not. Guinness is a very quiet dog. He hardly ever cries or barks, and I don't think he even knows how to "moan". Murphy, on the other hand, is VERY vocal. He makes all kinds of noises and all the time. He has several different kinds of barks (they each convey their own message), he cries when he wants something that he can't have, and he moans like crazy when he's playing with his (or preferably Guinness's) toys.
Chewie makes some funny moaning sounds when he is bowing down to our cat trying so hard to get the kitty to play with him. It is so cute. Unfortunately the kitty is not at all interested. Chewie also makes funny high pitched squeals when he is stretching first thing in the morning.
Peri is extremely vocal. Without fail, after finishing a meal or bullystick/treat, she comes up to me and burps very loudly and smiles. Pretty hilarious.
Her yawns are so audible and cute it melts my heart. Every morning we hear "arahhhhh"! Multiple times.
She does a weird grunting thing like "wrah..wrah...wrah" under her breath when she is playing with other dogs, especially Taquito. It is infused with a humming - it is a happy sound I think!
I love these doods.
I have 2 beagles and the breed is known for being talkers. Harlow thinks she is an overgrown beagle and talks right along with them. We get lots of squeaks, huffs, puffs, woofs and lots of other sounds when the 3 of them are playing together.
Willy's biggest noise is a SNORT! He walks into the room with someting in his mouth, (usually something he shouldn't have) and makes this loud snorting sound. It makes us all laugh. He also can burp. He also catawalls like a big baby when he hasn't seen me for awhile ~ wawl, yawl, wral, wral, wral, and he can honk too, and it's loud. He is very verbal. Funny creatures these doodles of ours. Don't know what I'd do without him. He is my shadow, although sometimes a loud shadow.
Thomas moans when I am cleaning his ears...moans of enjoyment though...just like someone does when they are getting a neck rub or massage. He also pokes at things that are new to him and jumps back a bit.
Ned greets us every morning with chortles and a toy in his mouth. He runs around on the bed (and us) letting us know the day has begun and it is time to GET UP. Other times when he is particularly happy and zooming around, he makes makes the same noise.
He does bark:(
He is a huge baby and squeals whenever he is slightly wounded or gets a shot etc. He makes himself dead weight when you pick him up and if you try scooping him he cries like you stepped on him!
Your kidding, right? At first Spud's vocal abilities were cute too. We had to warn our neighbors that if you hear us out in the garage he is just playing ball, milk carton destroy, or his box trash game. If he is not talking then his squeak toys talk for him. Lately his voice has became high pitched.

He has different speak for different toys and these vary in octave. If I'm in another room I can guess what toy he is playing with by the tones, speed, and pitch of his bark. He can become so persistent with his vocal rants and demands I get frustrated.

Ahhh, but my new baby :) She likes to play, " stuff my head in the couch cushions and talk" and it is adorable. She is vocal too but in a mellow kind of way.

My Socrates does the exact same thing! We say he's working out his 'issues'. He usually rubs up along the front of the couch and growls, moans, and yammers for awhile, and then burrows his head between the couch cushions and talks. The muffled nois sounds (and looks!) so funny! I can't figure out what provokes him to do this, it's not boredom or being hyper, because it's happened both when I'm playing with him and when we're just watching t.v.

Too funny!!
morgan like to rub along the couch after i've put oil or leave-in conditioner on him while i've groomed him (then he goes to the chair & back) of course outside he does the same thing along the whole line of pampas grass the entire length of my backyard (up & down, up & down) for those of you not living in the desert...pampas grass is pretty to look at but awful to touch each thin "leaf" has hundreds of "teeth" i guess he's going for a marathon scratch...lol
