Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

These 8 10-week-old labradoodle puppies were relinquished to DRC volunteer and rescue partner Elizabeth Gunn of Gunn Dogs Rescue by a BYB in Arkansas. The DRC and Gunn Dogs are collectively caring for them.

There are 3 chocolate girls and 5 boys, chocolate and black.

These babies are severely malnourished, flea and worm infested, have various skin conditions, eye and ear infections, diarrhea, and giardia. They have never seen a vet
(Their parents also have never been seen by a vet. Gunn Dogs and the DRC were unable to negotiate the release of the parents with this "breeder".)

These puppies were starving, dehydrated and lethargic when they arrived. Initial vetting indicates that they are Parvo free but they need to be closely monitored for symptoms over the next few weeks and fecal tests will need to be repeated with or without presentation of symptoms. They all required sub-cutaneous fluids and they are being treated for all the various infections along with the worms and giardia. Elizabeth is also providing them with electrolyte supplements and high calorie puppy food.

We are in the process of finding suitable fosters/care-givers. Needless to say, the task ahead of us is huge, but I have no doubt that the day will come when all of us here will smile at photos of 8 healthy, beautiful doodle puppies, going to their loving forever homes.
We need your help to make that day a reality.

Please make a donation to the DRC on behalf of the Arkansas Puppies. Any amount will help so much. And thank you, DK Family, for your generous and caring hearts, from the bottom of mine.
The puppies thank you, too!

(Sorry, boss, couldn't resist)
Hey..I'm doin a dance here and typing as fast as I can..I'm entitled to the occasional typo...lol
I hope this helps. Please keep us updated - those pictures tell such a sad story. I really do hope that the donations will lead to 8 healthy, bouncey doodles looking for the best homes, really soon x
Thank goodnes for the DRC. Keep us posted on these poor babies.
Oh my gosh! How horrible that these puppies are so malnourished. I hope they will be okay. I can't believe how irresponsible and cruel the owners are. The parents should have been taken away, period. Thank you for letting us know.
UPDATE: "MAD SCIENTISTS" NOW LISTED ON PETFINDER!

http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/17028790

The puppies are doing very well. They are eating like pigs and gaining weight. Turns out there are 6 boys and 2 girls. 5 black boys, 1 chocolate boy, and 2 chocolate girls. (The above photo is one from before they were rescued and does not reflect their much needed weight-gain.)
Now that they are feeling better, their personalities are begin to emerge. They are playing! Elizabeth Gunn has been very busy, needless to say, but will take individual photos soon, and I'll post them here with their new names. Following in the footsteps of our much loved DK doodle Darwin, they will be named for famous scientists. (Thanks for the idea, Camilla!)
Thank you all once again, you have truly made the difference in these puppies' lives!
The Mad Scientists say "Thanks, Doodle-kissers!"
Can't wait to see their plumped up 'after' pics =)
It's great news that they're doing so much better. I can't wait to hear more about these "Mad Scientists". I'm sure they'll be going to wonderful "forever homes". DRC is the "bomb".
Yay for the names! :-) I can't wait to see their after pics as well. It makes me so happy to know they have a second chance!
I am so happy they are doing well. I can't wait to see photos and I love the mad scientist theme!!!!
I was telling a friend about these puppies last night - she is heavily involved in rescue and fostering (any breed). This story broke her heart. But I told her all about the DRC and that they would get healthier and find good homes thanks to this organization!
Thank you, Allyson. We appreciate your support so much.
And a lot of the thanks goes to Elizabeth Gunn. It boggles the mind how much this woman does for homeless dogs. I don't know how she has time to eat herself!
Elizabeth and I are usually having dinner together via telephone at around 2 AM..lol
