I need some suggestions on how to make Sheba look more girly.  EVERYONE calls her a boy.  Is it because of her color and the fact that she has a beard (which I adore)?   : )  lol

I thought I'd start with a new collar and tag.   I find it hard to find a collar that looks good with her coat color. Also, it needs to be sturdy as she is a VERY active dog.  Any suggestions on what color collar would look good on her but make her look more feminine?  I'm stumped.

Here is what she is wearing now.  I bought it at REI which sells camping and sporting goods. I found that it snags easily and doesn't hold up too well.  (Not the greatest photo of the collar, sorry!)  The collar does look kinda boyish, I guess.

Here are a couple photos that show her coat color.  Oh, and speaking of her coat color, does anyone want to make a suggestion on what color she is?  Sable?  Merle? Brindle?

I still don't know!

And of course her winter look....

Thanks for the suggestions!!

I've purchased two collars for Jack in the entire 4 and a half years I've had him. One when I brought him home from the shelter and one when the first one got too tight. So I definitely don't have that sickness, LOL.
He doesn't wear a martingale, but some dogs should, so I'm always glad to have a good resource for new doodle adopters. Thanks for the link!
She would look great in a bright aqua (sp?) I once had a charcoal & white S*** Tzu and the bright aqua really looked nice. The BEST collars are LUPINE - no matter what happens to the collar or leash they replace free of charge even if it is chewed !!!! I replaced a leash and collar already - they are beautiful, great quality and very sturdy (great colors and patterns too (lupinepet.com) check it out !
Agree with the others- Pink or purple. I like the shorter coat which will show the accessories! Personally, my fav is the Timber Wolf Pet Products. They make the Alpine round collar and lead (saves matting) or harness. . I have the lead that has an extra handle at the collar to hold the dog close if necessary. Very Very Strong and reasonably priced.

They List "Where to purchase " at their site - I listed one of them
I know I'm a guy, and this is probably a guy thing, even though I'm not an oil under the fingernails type of guy, I'm an artist after all. But why would you buy lots and lots of different collars for your dog? Penny's 15 months old, and on her second collar, and that's because she outgrew her first one. Her present one is a little grubby (she's a dirt magnet), but we probably won't change it until it breaks...Please, please, please don't tell me some of you actually accessorize your mutt to match your own outfit...unless you're Paris Hilton of course, then I'd expect it.
Peri is on her 3rd collar. First she outgrew. Second is more of a winter collar (I saved, so we will go back to it in the fall). Current is pink and brown and summery. DH would shoot me if I kept buying collars. THe ones I buy are $20 a pop....
Same reason I have more than one pair of shoes...I'm a GIRL!!!! lol. Murphy doesn't wear clothes and we don't match (afterall he is a blond and I am a brunette and that would just be silly) I just love to buy him collars and toys, can't help it. Murphy is the first dog I have owned as an adult, he is only 6 months old, and I am just crazy about him and all things puppy. And now that he has had his terrible summer haircut you will actually be able to see all of his beautiful collars :)

I can't really answer your question...its a girl thing :)
I firmly believe in naked doodles.
Ha Ha
Yeah, me too!
Thanks everyone for all of your nice compliments, suggestions and input. I look forward to going to the sites that were listed and finding a beautiful girly collar for Sheba. Actually, I may just buy a couple for her in some pretty designs. My mother (who is in a nursing home) would get a kick out of them. Thanks again, you guys are great!
Pink.
try a handkerchief made with feminine fabric in pinks to match her tongue possibly a clip on for the hair on the top of her eyes to be held back with too. Trim the longer hair at her paws just enough to reveal her nails and paint her nails too. Or my sister has show collars for her dog that are themed for halloween ect. really cute. I don't know where she gets them though.
I have the opposite problem everyone thinks Neely is a girl. :(
That's just so wrong!
