I never understood why all the controversy surrounding Rutland Manor

Isn't it funny? This summer camping people have often ooohhhed and aaawwwed about Clancy and they say and your other dog, the poodle, is cute too. Guess the snooty ladies need a reality check! ha ha

Weirdly, I get this from a lot of Golden Retriever owners. There have been numerous times when I pass other dogs on walks, and the Golden owners glare, and won't stop to talk. If they do, they make comments about the "designer dog fad". After the last encounter, I looked up the Golden Retriever Club of America, and the anti-doodle view is alive and kicking there. VERY ALIVE. So I guess it makes sense...

Most people love Darwin though, and that is what matters!

OMD- I hate to start this in here but I came across some of these blogs too! hysterical. We should start a discussion and cut and paste a few statements about what they are saying about us. .... What I found astonishing was the fact that they come here and other doodle sites--copy our comments and take the back to blogs and make fun of us!

For example here is one post: What idiot in their right mind would take the thick hard-to-maintain coat of a poodle and breed it to a dog with all that hair ( Golden ). You get the worst coat imaginable! Idiots!

I agree!! I think of it every time I groom Spud. What a nightmare but I don't think we are idiots--well most of us aren't.

What I find interesting (and I haven't been to their sites so I'm just going on what has been said here) is that it would be interesting to know how many previous Golden Retriever owners switched to doodles for the non/low-shedding coats. I've heard many comments about we used to have a Golden Ret. and the shedding, oh my the shedding, so that is why we got a doodle! I cannot tell you how many times I've heard this. I absolutely love the Golden Ret., and I would never have known this prior to owning my doodles because I never really paid much attention to them before. However, no way am I going to deal with all that shedding in the house! Some don't mind it, me it drives crazy! I personally will take maintaining the doodle coat over all the shedding.
