There is an old joke in my neighborhood. Yes, the entire neighborhood still brings up the fact that when I mowed the yard, Puffs of shredded paper in all colors, flew threw the air. With Pete--140lbs Pete, his heavy poop would sink under the grass. If I missed picking it up, and eventually hit it with the mower blades Clouds of Confetti flew threw the air.

I think she was asking if Colds are contagious. No, I do not think humans and dogs can pass along the same viruses. Bacteria maybe, but not viruses so much.

I actually WAS asking if the paper would make him sick. I hadn't even considered the germ issue. I figure a dog that eats dirt should be fine where germs are concerned.

It won't and ... I just ate my cake too. For some reason, dogs love Kleenex. I say, go for it but please leave me some too.
