Splash Dogs

I went to a Splash Dogs competition today. Oh, my gosh, those dogs looked like they were having SOOO MUCH FUN! I had never heard of this event until Diane Margetts posted some pix that she had taken of Dakota in a competition in her area. (Toby doesn't like to go anywhere near water - must be more poodle than golden retriever - lol! - so I'm really impressed that Dakota enjoys doing this!) I thought it might be fun to post some pix from this exciting event.

Oh, that's right, F Parker - poodles DO like water. I don't know why I thought they didn't. Well, then, I guess Toby is just an odd ball! lol! Our last home had a lovely swimming pool, but we couldn't get him to go anywhere near it. He's not wild about baths/showers, either. Definitely not a water dog.

Although Holly swims in our pool, she enters the water very slowly and carefully. She also has no interest in chasing anything unless her Labrador buddy is chasing it. I wish that she would enjoy doing this - it certainly looks like a load of fun for both bogs and owners.

Great photos Linda! I love the concentration on their faces. The one of the Border Collie is priceless - you could come up with some good captions for that one!!

I had never heard of Splash Dogs either until earlier this year. Bark Avenue in El Dorado Hills, CA had Splash Dogs for a local fundraising event. I was in total AWE! Anyone was able to participate..I was unfortunately working a booth at the event so I didn't have my own dogs there, but sure wish I had. Everyone had a blast!!
