Now that the cooler weather is here, Toby is just parading around, looking for trouble. He's being really creative, too. He's eating things out of the garbage in bedrooms, which previously he's never done (bedroom doors are back to being closed), he ate a hair elastic today, he got a sock out of my duaghter's backpack - but first he got the backpack unzipped by himself.....and on and on. Anyone else's doodle full of beans these days? Toby was 2 in August - I thought we'd be past these behaviours by now. :)
Mine is a bit over 5 months old. He has learned how to unzip the zippers of his soft crate in the car, so I zip tied all but one zipper shut, I used a clip to keep it shut. So he sliced open the side of the crate and escaped.
Watch his eliminations to make sure he passes the elastic. I don't want to worry you unnecessarily, however my Gavin swallowed one a few months back and it caused a blockage which made him very ill. I'm sure that won't be the case with Toby, but you never know. They really do love the cold weather these crazy doods!
He's been eating and drinking, and is his same perky self. What should I look for in terms of illness? And yes, I will watch for the elastic to reappear.
It came on really quick. Gavin became totally lethargic, would drink but not eat and just layed on his side. He threw up bile a couple of times. We did not know he swallowed anything and the vet could not feel anything so gave him some anti-biotics. He perked up a bit and ate some, but no poo for over a day. When he finally did poo I found the elastic and Gavin was 100 percent after that.
Roo is almost completely mellowed out at three. Tigger at 2 and 1/2 is showing no signs of slowing down. We, too, are back to closing doors. After the razor incident I seriously considered tying him to me again for awhile. Fun, joyous, and loveable....... but this eating of non edibles has to stop (sigh).

How do they unzip zippers? Some of these doodles are really smart!
K is born looking for trouble. He is always going through our purses and bags looking for sunglasses and mobile phones, sticking his head into our laundry baskets looking for underwear. Otherwise, he will be counter surfing for half finished coffee, toasts, or stealing toilet rolls from the bathrooms. K turned 2 just a few months ago. I don't know if he will outgrow these behaviors.
we recently changed our office and bathroom garbage cans to ones with lids...what did I find this morning??? Marley happily eating the contents of the office garbage...sigh....
We had to get the trash bins that go in the cabinets in the kitchen...of course our doodle figured out in no time how to open the door...so we had to resort to putting the toddler-proof clips on our cabinets! Gotta love them though :D
OMD! is Harlow full of beans now that the weather has turned cooler. All she wants to do is torment her beagle brothers until they will come outside to play. She has had non-stop zoomies for days.
Peri has had a few zoomies a week lately. At 1 1/2, those had slowed down to once or twice a month! The cooler weather is making her torment her little brother (well older, but little in size!), run around like a mad woman, etc....
The second it gets cooler, Callie morphs into a different dog entirely. She's happy during the cooler weather in a way that she never is during the summer (especially this past summer where it was so unrelentingly hot). And YES....it seems to bring out the evil doodle elf!
