I just replied to a discussion where some lucky doodles have their very own walk in shower!!! And started wondering where it is that most of us wash their dirty doods?

Oh just super jealous that's all :-D  That is SUCH a nice setup!
I have been thinking about putting one of these in but even if I stick to the bathtub (ugh) I have trouble lifting them up.  Do you use stairs or a ramp? I currently lift (ow) them up to the top of the washing machine to brush them but need a better way.
This is such a great photo! I love it! Our Doodles are small enough that I can take both of them in the shower with me. I have a water pik shower head that has a 60" hose on it, so I can wash them easily. A 9' one sounds even better!
Gracie in the walk in shower.  She's pretty agreeable about walking in....
My Doods get their baths at the groomer.  If there's an "emergency", I put them in the tub.  That works fine for Guinness, but it's not a good situation with the Big Dood.  The last time we had to do that we had a major "flood" on the bathroom floor.
Our daughter takes her 80 pd Marley to the Doggie Self wash and loves it. Leaves the flood behind. We do a lot of baths at our house so we would be putting the groomers kids through college if I used them for every bath. I think it would be cheaper to renovate the bathroom than go to the groomers, yeah..that's what I'll tell DH. He just might buy that idea and get busy!
Our Doggy Daycare has one of those Self Wash tubs.  I've never tried it, but I may in the Spring.  Now I would worry about taking them out in the cold right after their bath, because they don't have dryers.
Oh my!! You'd have a PUP-sicle.!!!!

Oh Sue I love your tub!! We didn't have room for a tub and a big shower.  But this is our new doggie walk in shower, it's great cuz I can wash both pups in about 20 minutes!

When we go to the beach we park at the Dog Beach Dog Wash and walk Gracie Doodle to the beach.  Then we walk back (that way no sand in the car) and we wash her there at the dog wash.  Most of her baths are at home.  We take the screen off the laundry room window and attach a hose to the laundry tub faucet.  We get the temperature just right and then use the "shower" dial on the squirter and wash her.  We keep a ton of old towels for car washing and dog washing/drying and it usually takes about three towels to get the big drips off.  Then I put her bathrobe on and she comes in the house or if it is summer and warmer, she will go naked and just lay around the back yard or driveway to get dry.  We are pretty much able to wash her year round outside.  It is usually us who will get cold...not Gracie Doodle!

Love your bathtub, Sue!!! I'm curious... do you get IN that big tub WITH him? Or do you bend over the side to wash him? I take Toby in the shower and sit on the floor next to him. My shower head is on a long hose-thingie so it's easy to rinse him off with it.

Lucy - I would LOVE to have one of those dog tubs. (I imagine it would be much easier on your back.) Maybe I'll put one in the laundry room of my next house...

Unfortunately we left that bathtub in florida when we moved and the tub in this house is a smaller version on that one. So, no I never did get into that tub with him, nor did I even ever wash him in it as like most people in Florida, you can wash your dog outdoors pretty much year round. Plus we had a pool and were about .5 miles from the beach with showers so there never was much need to break my back in the tub.
