Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Oh where oh where has my poor doggie gone? After bringing him in to get his first clipping, at 10 months of age, I was told by the groomer that my mini-chocolate labradoodle was terribly matted and needed to be clipped way down.  My oh my - what a surprise when I picked him up....he looks like an overgrown malnourished brown schnauzer!  How long will it take for his coat to grow back and how can I prevent this matting from occurring again? Is this the coat change I've been reading about??

I think that we're in for a short clip too!  I've been resisting the clipping and fighting the matting, only to realize that there are new ones every day!  She's 9 months old and the matting is horrible behind her ears and under her collar.  I've been trying to work them out, but I can't keep up.  We have all the brushes, combs and a mat splitter and I think that we're going to have to go with the clipping and just keep it up until the coat change is over.  Off to the groomer...
Aww...what a cutie....she's a month younger than Bosco but she sure has a much fuller beauty supply cabinet! Hope her trip to the groomer was a success.

Hi Susan, How is Bosco's do now?  Post a picture if you can please? Bella should be going through a coat change here in the next few months and I haven't groomed her as yet as I love the long look and I never could get there with Murphy before he ended up tangling like a brillo pad.  Do you think you might come to the next doodle romp next Sat? Love to see your little guy again.
