Karen, everyone....HELP

I am at a loss. Allie has been eating Fromm for several months now. This was the first food that Allie would really like to eat...... Yeah. As soon as I put down her food she would eat enthusiastically for the first time ever. She was eating one of the fish varieties. I'm not sure the exact type but it was like a triangle shape. This lasted a long time since I bought the big bag (at least two or three months. Then I got the grain free type when they had a free coupon offer. She liked this as well. Well.......I went back a few days ago and I thought I would try a different flavor. The fish was a little stinky and made her breath smell so I thought I would try the chicken flavor. She will not touch it. I began to get worried so I put her food in one of those balls. She will eat it now that it is a challenge. Do you think I should be worried? I will go back and get the other flavor but I hate to spend another $50 dollars. I am sure I can donate this food to a shelter or something. I just don't get why she does not like this flavor when she loved the other and it is the same brand. Do you think I should stick this flavor out or go back and get the other flavor.

What about mixing the fish flavor ones with the chicken flavor? May be she would eat it then, and you would not waste the chicken flavor bag. The shelter I volunteer would not take a donation of open bag of dog food / treat in case of the contamination, etc....

Maybe you can mix a little of the chicken in with the fish so you don;t waste it and gradually add more chichen if she continues to eat it? That is probably what I would do. Or you can add some yogurt or hard boiled eggs or some other food she might like.

I had not thought of that. Duh. Blond moment. I guess I was thinking that because it was the same brand....no need to do that. Now I just have to figure out which flavor the fish one that she likes was. I believe I noticed there were two fish flavors. I wish they would have a picture of the kibble on the bag. I have noticed they all have different shapes. Ugh. Maybe I can email Fromm's. I am their "friend" on facebook.

The salmon is little round balls so it was probably the whitefish and white potato.  I had that one a while ago but don't remember the shape.  You don't have to gradually introduce the new flavors with Fromms for digestive reasons but it might help get her to eat what you bought.

Oh..whitefish is triangle shaped and does not stink.  surf and turf is round balls, dark in color and smells fishy.

I just rotated my Allie to the chicken (from duck) and she isn't too interested either! She hasn't missed a meal in months, until I put down chicken a la veg. Missing meals used to be almost daily. I'm not going to give her any other options, because she will eat it if she is hungry, but I will probably not get that kind again. Allie gets yogurt and an egg with every meal also.

Hi leigh and Allie.  Murphy eats Fromm and he will eat every flavor except the surf and turf.  Don't know why but he hates it. I buy the smaller bags and get two flavors at a time to rotate on a daily basis.  Right now he is liking the Whitefish and Potato and the Chicken.  Both stores where I buy the Fromm will take back an open bag if it doesn't work.  I returned the open bag of Surf and Turf with no problems. I would take the flavor Allie doesn't like back and exchange it for one she does like and ask for samples of all of the flavors so you will know which ones she likes before buying bigger bags.

Hi Leigh...

Sasha eats Fromm too...and this isn't uncommon.

She likes the salmon and  she Loves the pork and applesauce.  Sasha can't seem to get enough of the pork and applesauce... and finishes her bowl every time...so you might want to try that for Allie next.

The duck ties for third with the whitefish and...she really doesn't like the chicken at all!   

Actually...I don't like the chicken either since it doesn't  seem to agree with her...and it give her gas! 

Not very lady like now... is it??  Lol...

I would also add something to the chicken that Allie finds "yummy"...just so she can finish the bag...as long as she isn't having any adverse reactions to it.

The great thing about Fromm 4 Star is the variety of flavors that it comes in...so you just need to find which one your Dood likes best...

Our girls eat all varities of Fromm too. Hard to tell which is the favorite. Small bags are available thru amazon for experiment if you have a gourmet dog. Apparently my two are not :)

I use the Chicken ala Veg as their primary food, but I always mix in a little of another flavor. My two love the Chicken best and the fish the least. They are all so different .
