I would love to have Fudge run around with long hair, but since I am not a very good groomer, I try to keep it shorter. Well, we have been snowed in a few times and had to cancel one appointment, but I realized yesterday she was starting to look pretty scary. So, off she went to the groomer today. Here are some before pictures.
Help, I can't see!!!
I know we have had recent discussions about bad groomers, the cost of grooming, tipping, etc. Well, I think from the above pictures you can see my groomer is a saint. All she said was that she earned her money today and only charged me $40 and yes, in desperation never to lose her, I tipped her $20 and I will do it again and again and again.
Here is the end result. Keep in mind, that Fudge is unable to protect herself from my attempts at cutting her hair now and then. My kids learned long ago not to let me cut their bangs, but Fudge doesn't know how to say, "Keep away from me!" like they did and sometimes the groomer has to correct my mistakes. She looks much better in person, but takes a bad photo and almost never looks at the camera. She is also getting whiter with every grooming. My chocolate doodle is vanishing.
I have already prepared the groomer for Vern's appointment on Tuesday and I think I heard her say, "dear god", when she viewed him through the car window.
Does anyone else have some scary before pictures or a picture when you realized grooming was no longer a luxury, but a necessity.

Yup - these shots were taken last summer when I decided to go really short... and see how long it would last (turns out the REALLY short cut lasts 4 months!!!!!)
BEFORE....
AFTER...... (brrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!)
Most of my friends don't like it this short - Welly looks anorexic! But I love it - for me it means at least 2 and a half months of no grooming!!!! Yay! And yes - I too have come to realise that a professional groomer for Welly's coat is an absolute necessity =) £25 has bever been so well spent...
