Update on Jax

Yesterday it seemed like Jax was getting better, however, overnight he started having seizures.  The vet said that he is on Valium and will stay in the ICU on IV therapy until these symptoms go away.  He said this plant (Yesteday, Today Tomorrow) is a strichine based neurotoxin and is very nasty.  Poor Jax.  They don't want visitors as the excitment tends to make the neurological symptoms worse.  I wonder what he thinks happened to all his people....

Oh, we are so upset to hear that Jax had a difficult night.  We are hoping that the worst is over.  Please, please Jax, get better.  Your Doodles friends want to hear you are doing OK.  We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers!

This is truly awful, sending positive thoughts to you and Jax and praying for his full recovery.  Does anyone know the Latin name for this plant as the 'common' name is not familiar?.  I had an experience years ago of having a Maltese terrier that was had a very similar experience and the neurological symptoms were as you describe.  It went on for a week and she stabilised but couldn't walk or move properly.  Before the family and the vet decided to end her life we decided to take her home.  She staggered into our hall, shook herself and realised she was home.  Rosie lived for another 10 years until she died at home, peacefully aged 18.
