Reading Sue's post about Bella eating her own poo-poo reminded me that years ago I had a friend who had the same issue with a Shitzu rescue. Besides eating her own poo Ginseng also rarely associated with the rest of the family.
The communicator had been brought to town by the local PBS station for a fund raiser and locals could book sessions with her. So my friend took Ginseng for a session and I tagged along. It was pretty interesting actually.
After talking silently with Ginseng the communicator was able to advise my friend as to why her dog ate poop how to get her to stop and also how to get her to interact with the family. After implementing the suggestions given her by the communicator, my friend's dog DID stop eating her poop and also became integrated into the family. It was pretty amazing really!!
Has anyone else had any experience consulting with an Animal Communicator for their doodles or other animal companions? And what are your thoughts about the concept of "Animal Communicators" in general?"

So that is tomorrow? Yes, definitely GO!! I can't wait to hear what the communicator says!! Unless it is all about you being naked or something!! LOL!
But yes, my friend was concerned that her dog would tell the communicator that she was a bad mom or something too. But they don't seem to see things the way that people do. They aren't judgemental. :)
We also had a session with an animal communicator at our local pet festival. She was interesting if nothing else. She had a session with my sons Girlfriends dog Reggie. Neely was there as well. But she did come up with the fact that Reggie knew Jessie was going to move away( we didn't tell her anything about the kids leaving for school) He was going to miss her but he wanted her to leave her bedding or some clothes or something that smelled like her for him to keep for himself. She talked about his allergies a bit. She said that he really loves Neely and that they are best friends but that sometimes Reggie gets sore from Neely being so ruff so he needs some rest afterward. She also said that he had a sore paw, Jessie had just seen him limp a day or two earlier but not all the time just a funny step once in awhile. She also said that Reggie gets a sore neck and would like more neck rubs. She also said that there was a boy around him that he gets alittle tired of. She described it like that Reggie was the older brother and this boy was a little brother that got under his skin bugging him sometimes. Jessie's brother tends to want Reggie to play longer than Jessie thinks he should as she knows Reggie and is always saying leave him alone. That was right out of the blue!
Our older dog was close to the end of her life at that point and I did wonder about taking her. But the rest of the family poo pooed the idea.
Wow she sounds like she was pretty accurate!!
If I could find one that I trusted I would take an animal to them if there was a need. And I can understand taking an older animal especially as you were thinking. Maybe you could find out if they were in pain or had some need that you were not aware of. That sort of thing.
When we took our old Jack, it was because he had a huge sarcoma. We wanted to find out if he was in pain.
One of the interesting things that I learned in the class was that animals live in the present. To them there is no past or future, so for them they can't tell if a fellow animal (or person for that matter) is dead or alive. It ws a strange concept to grasp, but I liked the idea.
Well, we have done it both ways. One time we had two dogs and one passed without the other knowing or see her body. The living dog was never the same and always seemed to be "grieving" for her for lack of a better word until he passed.
The other time we lost a dog and cat on the same day and our remaining cat was allowed to view the bodies. She seemed to be fine with it. Just gave them each a sniff and moved on and never seemed to look for them again. Of course she was a CAT! LOL!!
HOWEVER, I don't know if my perceptions are accurate about these incidents. It is hard to separate my own thoughts and emotions from what the animals are actually going through.
Okay Ricki, I decided to "communicate" with Bella about eating poop and during the night while I couldn't sleep she was on the floor right near my side of the bed. I moved and she lifted her head and I "told" her to walk away from the poop! I envisioned her just ignoring hers and Murphy's poop in the yard. She kept staring at me until I envisioned her sleeping and she immediatly rolled over on her back, put her cute little paws in the air and went to sleep. It was very wierd, but what was MORE wierd is that she DID NOT EAT any poop today and walked by her 2 piles several times....( I am leaving it there to train her to "leave it".)
Not sure if it's because I am on her back like white on rice, (or stink on poop, haha), or if I "communicated" with her! Let's wait and see. I will try to keep you posted.
