Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I was just reading through some of the wall posts and cracking up.  You girls are FUNNY! Bad thing about wall posts is that you can only reply with another wall post....  This thread is just for chatting. There are  quite a few members who don't want to participate in the challenge but we'd still love to hear from you and get to know you...

Sooooo, I'm going to start us off...Does anyone else here like to camp as much as I do? If so: Where? What method? How does your doddle do? And what are your best kept camping secrets?

Well, Donna, don't forget the campground ants.  Gotta use that cleanser around the tires and hoses!
They don't allow that in Carlsbad anymore.. :( but strangely / thankfully, there hasn't been an ant problem the last several times we've been there.

I have been tentatively participating in the challenges, but I'm not as successful as everyone else so I don't want to post. :-)

I have done a lot of spinning classes in the last couple of years and I just got a bike for my apartment, yay! Treadmills just don't fit, plus I've struggled with shin splints a lot in the past. So I'm hoping  that with this bike I can get back into my spinning habits...

Camilla, that is why I love the challenges...They really encourages me to try to get SOME points on the board. Even if I only manage 2, it's something I can feel good about. Not only that my dear, but you have a fabulous way with words....I know you would be an amazing encouragement to me and everyone here. :)

Ok, here is one small slide show from the beach.  NO BUGS :) Amazing sunsets...kids and laughs...No pics of our trailer though.

Great memories in those slides, Donna.
Beautiful pictures!!!
Thanks...I do have more pics of camp which is what I was looking for. They must be on another drive.
We camp in a motor home.  We are teachers so we try to be gone for as long as we can in the summer but we don't stray far. We just want to get out of the heat and smog of home so we go range along the California coast between Monterrey and San Diego with our favorite being Pismo Beach. Our adult kids and their dogs usually find us for part of the time and we have had 5- 6 adults and 6-7 dogs (1 of those dogs was a 120 pound doberman ranging down to Ned sized (26 pounds). Mostly nowadays it is my DH and I and our dogs.  We had four until last September.  Since losing our pack leader, our Springer Spaniel howls if left alone.  We may have to leave him home with a doggy sitter this summer :-(   if we can't solve his anxiety.  Our doodles travel like champs except Ned does not like to go potty on a leash or in public and he feels the same way about eating.
Nancy ..... we ran into a Doberman rescue group this past week-end.  3 of the sweetest dogs I think that I have encountered.  They were so gentle, kissey, sweet and loving!  I'm so becoming a Big Dog kind of girl!
I was afraid of Dobies and when my son (was technically an adult but living at home with us) brought Boxster home, I was furious!  He worked really hard to socialize and train that dog and he turned into the best trained of all the family dogs.  He was awesome.  Because he was so big though, his health failed sooner and he passed away at only 9 years old.

I work for a school district too. I love the days off. I don't even mind the furlo days. DH works for the county can gets most of the same days off as well as every other Friday.  As a matter of fact, this morning we will make reservations for September down in Carlsbad.

I forgot that we were both big Pismo fans...although we don't camp. We usually stay at the Cottage Inn. We might rent a house this year and bring the girls....Or camp...
