Let's REALLY get to know each other.

Between getting to know everyone with Yappy Hour and the game of 3 truths and one lie, there is so much to learn about everyone and there are some really interesting and talented people on DK. I would love to know some of the vital statistics like: Age, Married, Children, their ages, professions, hobbies, a dream or goal you have before you get too old to do it. Things that aren't on our profile page already. With all the photos of ourselves we can now put the whole picture of the DK member together.

I'll start:

I am 57 and have been married to my highschool sweetheart for 39 years this May. We have two grown children, Michele 36 and Erik 30 who are both married and live nearby in Az. We have one grandson, Ethan,20 months old, who is my sunshine. I am a Labor and Delivery Nurse, somewhat semi retired and DH is a retired Fire Fighter. I love to make quilts and give one to every family member and so far have about 16 done and about 23 to go. I love to run, work out, be outdoors, garden, read, and spend time with family and doodles. One of my biggest goals is to hike the Grand Canyon rim to rim and also to see Europe someday. Other than that, my dream of being a mom and grandmother is being realized every day.

Caitlin, I hope you get to travel to all the places you want to go. My daughter is an adventurer too and has parents that like to stay home. Go figure. Maybe Camilla can give you some baking lessons. I am with you on the changing of the seasons. I love the cold weather and the older I get the less I like the hot stuff. You are another one I was sure was older on DK when I first joined. Like Camilla, you have good advice and thoughtful comments.

You only re-read the HP series once a year? Come on, you can do better than that... LOL. And you are crazy for not liking warm weather. No coats in 40 degree weather... psh! :-)

 

Seriously though... a doctorate program. Wow. I wish I had the drive and skill you have!

I am 34 yrs and have been married to my wife Cara since 96.  I served in United States Coast Guard in Ashland WI

for four years.  We have two kids together, Ashley is 14, and Houston is 11 years old. The wife is a restauraunt broker and I am an RV Technician.  We love MLB  Cardinal Fans!  and Got to see the Daytona 500 this year.

I am sure to be the only one on DK to say I lived in Wasilla Alaska and Sarah Palin was our mayor in 2005.  We even got to see her in the local grocery.  Ha!  Tried and True Okies and Now live in Central Florida. 

It is truly pleasurable to be here with all you Wonderful people with our same interests! 

My dream is to make Tulsa Oklahoma a more Dog Friendly Place!!

Kevin, we spent 3 months in Seldotna 2 summers ago and went to Wasilla often. We were there when they announced Sarah Palin's decision to run for Vice pres. Very interesting time. The Alaskians seem to love her. Or did then, We also just moved FROM Florida to Az. Down from you a bit in the West Palm Beach area. There are quite a few florida members on here, maybe you can have a big romp someday. Although Fla is a big state to plan any events in I know,

WOW Kevin - we are thinking of going to Alaska this summer... thinking of taking a cruise around Glacier Bay, then a land tour to Denali on a train tour... hit Fairbanks, etc.  Nothing definite planned right now - still in the works.  Any suggestions from a tried and true Alaskan?

I am 53 and have been married to my high school sweetheart for 33 years. He was throwing up at a high school New Year's Eve party and I looked over and said, "that guy is for me." We have two adult daughters. Megan is 26 and Hayley is 25. Megan just got married in June and finished her PhD in Special Education in July. We know she waited on purpose to finish her degree, so she could deprive us of having a Doctor in the family, because she goes by her married name :) Our youngest daughter, Hayley, has her BA degree in Photography and is trying to make her way in this tough field. She designs wedding invitations and invitations of all kinds, but makes her "I've got to live" money working at a daycare. I was a world class famous stripper until I retired to be a full time homemaker. Not really, but I wanted to see if you were still paying attention. I did work for many years, but when we moved to PA, I became a full time homemaker. My oldest daughter likes to tell everyone that I am a stay at home mom and then adds since all my kids are grown up, I am really a stay at home. This is why I love my dogs :) I love to antique and collect Polish Pottery, Ironware, Flow Blue, Wedgwood, and quilts. We are big fans of the Purdue Boilermakers. For many years, I played competitive co-ed volleyball. My husband and I love to kayak, ride bikes on the rail trail. and walk our dogs. On my bucket list is the dream to go whale watching, down in a shark cage to see sharks up close, and see Alaska up close. My biggest dream would be to have my married daughter closer.
