My search for the ultimate "puppy hauler" continues and frankly my dear - I no longer give a d*#m.  This SUV shopping is for the men, how uninteresting can anything be.  I am just so over trying to figure all of this out.  These people speak a language that I do not know.  What the heck is a V8 FFV engine?  RSC?  Cargo (puppy?) Management?  SNYC?  Would someone pleeeez just sell me a vehicle?  I do want 4 wheel drive so that I can zoom up to Michigan if need be in the winters - well try to find 4x4 in Florida - aren't any.  So I am at yet another dealership today and they give me the trade in value on my present car.  Older model, very low miles, looks like new and I had done my homework and sorta had a ball park - they come back 2,500 lower - what the heck?  Well, seems that when someone backed into me with their trailer hitch going through my bumper - Car Facts says it is an accident.  Hey, I wasn't even moving.  So they knocked 2,000 off for the wreck.  Wreck?  The truck was in reverse at about 3 miles an hour.  It happened at Christmas one year - the cop was trying not to laugh as I had a red reindeer nose on the grill and antlers on the windows.  Jeeez.  Just shoot me.  Rooney - mommy just wants a puppy friendly SUV for you, sorry buddy.

My husband got a Toyota Venza a while ago. It had nothing to do with doodles. He needed a car. However, I just read that Toyota Venza and the Honda Element are some of the best pet friendly cars/SUV out there. We did not get any additional pet related items listed for his car, because they mostly ride in my old van and we never even thought to ask. I thought I would pass this along.

my son in law is looking at these two vehicles because they can literally open the car doors and wash out the car....they have a boxer and a boxer/beagle mix and his current car (the college heap) is a mess because of the dogs! I think they might just have to have a "drive it off the cliff" moment for that one.

I just purchased a 2011 GMC Terrain.  It has a HUGE back seat for the doodle and is just the right size...a mid size SUV...and the mileage is great.  I bought the 4 cyl which i have no idea what that means BUT my DH wanted the 6 cyl engine because it has more power(also uses more gas).  I do not need more power so I went with the 4 cyl.  Great doodle car and I love the look of it...kind of truckish. We replaced our BMW X5 with this...Way less money. Check it out

Jane, you need to shop in good old Detroit, the deals are the best there and then you and Rooney can have another road trip. You can call them, make the best deal, test drive in Florida to some unsuspecting salesman who thinks he may have a sale, fly up and drive home.

I would sell the current car yourself, you will get the most that way. Be up front about the stupid "so called wreck" , have the car fax already.

We have purchased two cars that way, like you I have family up in Michigan and I combined pleasure with business!

Did you drive the Ford Explorer?

Good Luck!

I am also in the market for a new car or suv of some sort and truth be told I would rather have a root canal done. I detest the fact that everyone can negotiate a different price for the same car. It really pi$##@@s me off and so do pushy salemen, that's why I bought my last car from a woman salesperson.
