I read a great article a few weeks ago that listed the top TEN best foods for your skin.  Some, I couldn't stomach so I'm posting the top FIVE and I'm happy to say that I have seen a great improvement.

Almonds and salmon have already been a staple in my diet but here are five more super foods I've recently included.

  1. Avocado
  2. Mango
  3. Wheat germ
  4. Acerola cherries
  5. Cottage cheese.

I've found some really great ways to incorporate these foods so that i don't get tired of them.  What are your great skin secrets?

What kind of improvement Donna?   I'm in need of some wrinkle reducing/elimination foods!
Well, it seems that my skin tone is much more even.  I have a nice healthy glow and I think my skin is better hydrated because my make-up stays on much longer.  It must have been so dry before that it just sucked up any moisture I put on it...haha.  I still see some wrinkles but overall, I think my skin looks much, much better. :)
Thanks for this post Donna.....Almonds, Avacado and Wheat Germ are staples here....I'll add the cottage cheese.  I'm no big on salmon but will have that now and then.    Surely the winter has dried my skin terribly!
Oh I know Carol.  It's the cold dry winters and for us, the hot summers at the beach.  Even though I don't try to get tan anymore and I do keep in the shade most of the time....Years of sun and salt air have definitely taken their toll.
I appreciate the food info, and I try to get those colorful fruits and healthy fats, but my skin has acne, acne scars & beginnings of real wrinkles...so my great skin secret is a prescription for Retin-A.  I also did Smoothbeam laser treatments 4x one year.  Pricey and hard to determine if the acne was really reduced.

Gosh Melissa, you look just beautiful.  I guess we just really need to take care of our skin inside and out right?

Thank you.  A blurry photo is helpful too :-)

I couldn't do retin A when I was pregnant and breastfeeding, which sucked, and when I finally was done with that era of my life, low and behold, my health insurance wouldn't cover it because "after age 29 it is considered a cosmetic treatment" (i.e. wrinkles not acne).  But a $100+ pump ended up lasting me two years despite religious daily application so I consider it worth the out-of-pocket price.  And, lucky me, this past month when I refilled the script, the guy at Target got the dermatologist's office to argue on my behalf that it really IS for acne, and I paid only $40.
