Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Okay, I know I should have waited until Halloween to post his but I came across a sheepdog forum on the internet where somebody asked if their dog was seeing a ghost. Now, I personally, have never had an experience with Huff seeing ghosts. I have seen some things that I think are ghosts. when we were moving my grandma into her new house we were taking a break and having some pizza. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a young man standing in an olive green tank top with dark hair. I looked, and nothing was there. Mind trick? Ghost? Have you ever had a ghostly experience? Has your doodle (or any other pet) ever had a ghostly experience?

I did twice, once I saw my grandmother about a year after she had passed away, I saw her standing in the doorway of my bedroom, it wasn't night time, I wasn't dreaming...I felt a slight breeze and something made me turn around and there she was!!!..She was younger then she was when she died, and when I went toward her, she smiled and faded away...talk about being freaked out, I was shaking for hours...The second time was several years ago, it was the middle of the night, I had gotten up to go to the bathroom, and when I came back in the bedroom, my favorite Aunt was sitting on the side of my bed, she was smiling, and I remember being too scared to utter a sound, or go toward her.  I wasn't dreaming, I was wide awake.  I called her dughter in the morning, and I told her what happened.  I told her what she was wearing, her hair, the way it was done, and a pin that I believed her daughter had kept.  It was a pin that spelled out Love in diamonds. She wore it all the time. My cousin told me that no one knew what she was buried in, and that she had placed the pin on the suit that she was buried in.  My uncle wanted her buried in a white shroud, as is the custom in the Jewish reliegion, but my cousin didn't do it.  I was freaked as she was too...What I saw her wearing is what she was buried in.  Now it has never happened again, I have never had my mom or dad appear to me either.  But our old dog Token would stand and bark at the wall sometimes , and it would freak me out, the vet said it was Alzheimers, I am not so sure, I believe he saw something, that we couldn't...

I guess I am nuts, but I truly believe that the spirit lives on, even when the body is gone.  If you have ever seen a patient or a loved one that died from a bad illness, you see in death, a peacefulness that takes over the features.  Being a nurse I have seen that many times.  I can only say that my father was a wonderful gardner, he loved his roses, and he had a wonderful rose garden, while he was sick, he couldn't care for them, and they never bloomed.  the week after he passed, they bloomed in full array...We were all stunned to say the least.  I told my mom that it was a sign that he was telling us he was ok, and not to worry...I know I am nuts, but that is why I always tell people that lose a pet to plant a bush or a tree, and when it blooms it will tell you that the pet is ok, and the beautiful flowers or leaves will comfort you...
Do you see a lot of people at your hospital? I am not calling you crazy. I believe in this stuff too. I always watch ghostly encounters and a haunting and those shows. I believe it is entirely possible. I know that I am not crazy haha:) That story about your dad and his roses must have been a beautiful sight:) I think that planting a plant when a pet dies is a great idea:)
I am retired now, but yes I did see alot thru the years...Yes that was such a calming sight for my Mom and siblings...
oh. Did you always know if they were a ghost or if you were looking at a live person?
No what I meant was that the patients that passed had a very serene loook, like the pain was over, peace was with them.  They were not ghosts.  There have been studies done that young children are very aware of ghosts, they sense them and see them when adults don't. It is believed that a childs brain is more more sensitive to things like this...
Oh I see. I have heard that too. Young kids can see ghosts. Have you ever seen the show Ghost Whisperer? I love that show:)
I don't believe that either of you is crazy. I am as scientific minded as they come and I still don't have an explanation for some things that I've seen or heard. I don't know what it is...maybe intuition is a under developed form of the same thing? I've experienced premonitions in a scary way sometimes too. Maybe dogs have that ability too. Who really knows?

If you want the link to the forum I was reading here it is:

thanks I am going to the site now..

I once saw something out of the corner of my eye in the bathroom. Like a black shadow of some sort...I was washing my face, rinsed, and looked up to grab my towel...and it was sort of floating away. Very strange experience. Needless to say, I couldn't wash my face in the bathroom without having someone nearby for quite a while!!!! I do think about dogs seeing ghosts often, though. It's an interesting thought....

i wouldn't have been able to either haha:)
