I was sitting at the computer last night and just had to pull out my camera. This is an every meal situation at my house. Maggie eats slowly and only what she wants, never overeats. KoKo on the other hand inhales her food and then waits for Maggie to finish.
That is EXACTLY what happens in our house! Our Lab is done with his food in less than 10 seconds, then "supervises" Bridget's agonizingly slow mealtime.
Rosco used to be the inhaler until Boca joined our family. Now Boca leaves him in the dust...she scarfs her food down faster than Rosco! Nobody here leaves crumbs either.
Neely is a regular eater he is free fed and nibbles when ever he wants usually at about 1 am he eats the most. The puppy came and we couldn't leave anything in his site he'd inhale it. His parents told us how much to feed and when. It wasn't working so I started putting all the balls Neely has in the puppy bowl. Then while he was eating I would put my hand in and feed him a couple of kibble at a time. He now eats when ever and doesn't inhale his food. He did toss his cookies the first couple of days or had a reflex gagging stint. He now leaves food in the dish when he's had enough. He is eating more here but they are also playing for two hour intervals full out wrestling, they do this on and off all day too! He drinks like a cow too. I worry when they inhale because of bloat. He may have to go back to regular feedings at home so he doesn't start eating because of boredom.
Our doodles are exactly the same way. Dexter could never get enough food. He stalks Kirby and checks his bowl to eat any leftovers. Kirby really doesn't care much about food :)
Cute picture! It's the same here-Chloe rushes and watches Myla finish then they swap bowls and lick for crumbs. We actually had to get them slow feed bowls because they ate like they were never fed before! Chloe got pudgy over winter so she needs either a treat diet or tons of exercise.
My Doods are exactly the same. Murph inhales and then waits for Guinness to finish. I wonder if it makes Guinness nervous to have his brother staring at him while he's trying to eat.
Gus used to be a come and go type eater. Until the first time after we got Lily he came back and it was gone. He finishes everything now. Then they go and lick each others food bowl just to make sure nothing was left behind.
