I am not sure how I will keep my dogs from playing after Lily is spayed.  Vet said three weeks with no hard play.  I know from experience they may sleep a bit more the couple days after the procedure but then what?  Three weeks is a long time to keep her from playing.  Any ideas?

THREE weeks?  Wow that seems like an awful long time...or an awfully conservative vet.  I kept Boca from playing (though she still would LEAP into the air) simply by keeping her crate a lot or separating Rosco from her and she'd only go outside on leash for about a week.  After that we were less careful but she still didn't get to rough house.  So either you will need to crate/gate/leash Lily or your other dog(s) for a while at all times so they have no choice and simply can NOT physically attack each other for play.  She'll have a ton of pent up energy, but it only builds up so high and if she physically can not play rough because she's contained by gate/leash/crate she'll be fine.  But THREE weeks sounds a bit excessive.
I am not a drinker but after this I may be!!  lol
I think the key is no HARD PLAY with her doggy siblings.  At least the other dogs are older and I bet it's Lily that instigates play so if she's not able to initiate a play session they should be okay with it.  It's not easy to keep a pup's four feet on the floor, but just by containing her some how you can keep her from playing with the others.  So that part won't be hard...but it will make you feel bad to keep her restrained for so long.  Just know this too shall pass.  I would keep her from playing with the others for a week...and then call the vet back and say "Are you SURE no playing for THREE weeks?"  If he says yes, then just take her on lots of walks to get some movement.
When KoKo was spayed a few months back the vet said to keep her quiet for two weeks.  After a week of trying to do this, I gave up and let her do her thing (with reservation).  I think the vet is crazed thinking you will be able to keep a doodle quiet for three weeks.  Perhaps this can be done with one doodle but not with two - they just feed off each other.
Wow, that is a long time. I think our vet said one week. I would stock up on chew toys for Lily....bully sticks, antlers. For you, I would stock up on wine, sedatives, and Hershey chocolate bars.....LOL!!

Too funny!

I went to our pet store yesterday and asked for antlers and thy said that they were no longer going to have them!

Maybe I will have to order them online with my case of Mascotto!

LOL...Lots of discussions on where to get antlers online. Good luck!
Oops....I didn't realize my DD was signed in on this computer. It is actually Laurie, Fudge and Vern replying.....

Our vet said 10 days - we took her back to daycare after her stiches came out. She was fine.

They are going to jump - it is near impossible to keep a wild puppy down :)

wow 3 weeks??  Kirby had an undescended testicle and the vet told us he only needed 10 days to heal.  I'm ashamed to say we only lasted 5 days (not that I encourage you to follow our lead!).

Good luck!

I'm sure it won't be that long-they do get tired, you can hardly stop them form jumping etc, just keep a closer eye on her-or gate them off from eachother for a few days? Good luck little Lily!

Our vet said 2 weeks too. We did limit activity as much as possible and had our older doodle go to our daughters for a few days so there would be no rough housing. She still jumped and ran and played tho. I am more of the school of thought that if it hurts, she'll stop. Two weeks seemed sufficient. Maybe ask him why 3 weeks? Does he do something different or use a different technique that takes longer to heal? Can't imagine what, but there's a lot I don;t know.
