Toby grabbed an SOS pad from the kitchen counter and in a split second it was shredded and gone!!!!!  I called the vet, they said to give him white rice and water, if he starts vomiting or gets diarrhea take him to emergency ASAP. These cleaning pads are wirey and I fear it will cause damage, or not pass at all.....which the vet said would result in surgery....  How long does it normally take for something to pass through?  The vet said to watch him closely through the night.  We have always been so careful, our house is so child-proofed (doodle proofed), we never had to child proof this much for the kids or grandkids.....I just hope we can get through this with no consequences, then no more SOS pads in the house!!! And, yes, the baby gate goes back up to block off the kitchen .  I am worried sick about this!!!!!

Debbie, No advice here, but I hope the SOS pad passes through with no problems. Please let us know!
I hope he can pass it without any problems.  I hope your sleepless night goes OK.
Wishing you the very best outcome and that all will be well. what a  worrying time for you.   The phrase  'And this too shall pass' which comes from the bible. comes to mind though I'm sure this wasn't exactly what was intended!
Silly Nicky!!!
I wish for a 'good outcome' and will be watching for your updates.  I agree with the previous post to be ready to go with whatever items you might need.
Oh, God... You must be sick to your stomach......I hope Toby will pass it through with minimal difficulties..... I will be thinking of you and Toby tonight....
This is very scary.  I will be watching for an update tomorrow.  Hope you have a reasonable night and that things go smoothly for Toby.  Try not to worry too much.  You have a plan.
Poor Toby and you!  Especially with all you've been through.  You are his guardian angel.  I am hoping all goes well.
Hope the night went well and this all resolves itself naturally ...... will be watching for an update!
Hopefully everyone got a little sleep during the night and Toby has a productive morning with little difficulty.

Debbie-I missed the post yesterday-how is Toby doing??? (and you) What a scary thing to eat! Myla & Chloe both got a dryer sheet (used) before and ate it before I could get it out!! I'm sure it would be worse if wasn't used. Those doodles are so quick!

Best of luck to you and keep us posted! Thinking of you Toby and hope you go potty soon!!!

UPDATE: Toby started vomiting about 4:00am this morning...out came the SOS pad. We immediately contacted his vet... as long as he was keeping his food down and there were no signs of bleeding we should continue to monitor.... We went in early this morning, Toby is doing GREAT!!!   Wagging his tail, energetic. hungry and thirsty!  So for him just a normal day.. :-)  So far, so good!! Thank goodness!!! The vet does not suspect any damage although he wants to keep him on the bland diet again today just in case there is some irritation. We will continue to monitor. I am so-o-o  relieved, apparently there have been cases of this that have ended up in surgery due to intestinal damage or bowel damage from the metal wires in these pads. Our box of SOS has now been moved to the garage, my DH got one out to clean the grill grates, and turned his back for one second....yes, he got in BIG trouble! I should not have panicked, but I did, I turned around and saw Toby eating something, and then my DH noticed the SOS was gone....Toby immediately swallowed it before we could even say "drop it"....   Anyways, lesson learned! What a scare! Just so thankful that he is acting ok today! Thank you all for your care and concern, and just for being there to listen.
